I totally get it man. I was in the same situation and from what I’ve read here it seems to be the same scenario for a lot of men. It’s amazing to me, these women all seem to have a hive mind. The thing that’s really helped me is to keep moving forward and to work on yourself. And not in a “I’m damaged and I need to fix things” way, it’s a fixing that helps you grow and learn from these experiences. I took all the hatred, all the nasty things she said, her cheating and sneaking around and used it…

Geezo did we marry the same woman? Same thing happened to me during the last few gatherings before it all exploded. Then I read the text messages and she was trashing my parents (all I have for family) and me to her inner circle. That was it for me

I started going to the gym around two weeks after my ex said she wanted a divorce. I was devastated and I needed something to get my mind off things. Three months later (with all the divorce nonsense done, house sold, no kids to worry about and complete separation / no contact with the ex) I’m getting into the best shape of my life. I did a second fitness test a few days ago and my trainer said they were the best results she’s seen in years. Any of my brothers out there suffering from immense em…

I know it’s cliched and you’ve probably read it a thousand times but time really does heal. I’ve been divorced for almost two months and I’m slowly getting back to my normal. The first day/week/month when we decided to end it was the worst period of my life. I couldn’t function properly. Everything reminded me of her and I was a complete mess. Fast forward to now and the thoughts are getting less and less and I’m working on me and making myself a better person. You will be ok. Move on, learn fro…

It really is. Just two months ago I was a complete wreck and I had no idea how I was going to pull through. Now I’m feeling better about my future and doing things that I neglected while I was married (she came first for everything at the expense of my own happiness). Hang in there. You will start to feel better and things will get better. Everything feels weird at first because we’re creatures of habit and most of us hate change.

Before my divorce my ex became a nurse and decided to take the night shift because “the money was better” even though we weren’t hurting. For 6 months, and to now, I slept alone and it was very difficult for the first few weeks. Zzzquil became my friend but I didn’t want to become dependent on it. Honestly time is the only thing that helps. I’ve been divorced for a little over a month and there are times I miss my partner but I’ve just gotten used to being alone at night.

I seriously cannot believe what you wrote there because it’s the exact same thing my ex preached to me during our separation. She would cry in bed for hours about the children she would never have and not once care that our marriage was ending. It was all about her and the death of her unborn children.

I’m right there with you. I got my final divorce papers last week and the thoughts of dating again are so repulsive to me it makes me sick thinking about it. I’m turning 39 this August and I want to work on me, make myself happy, and look out for myself. I spent the last 5 years taking care of this woman that I fell for hard. I worked my ass off making her happy and giving her everything at the expense of my own happiness and dreams. We were going to grow old together and she would say to me “pl…

It probably makes them feel like an actual human to feel shame and they hate it.

You’re absolutely right. I know she’s been cheating on me for a bit and I saw some of her text messages that imply that she is. I convertly asked questions regarding it and she denied it up and down. It just pains me to think she’s with another guy so quickly after our marriage dissolved but I need to work through that.

Didn’t adopt. His father is still around and paying child support and didn’t want to give up custody. She works as a nurse and before we filed I consulted with a lawyer to make sure I wasn’t responsible for anything. We’re divorcing jointly and staying amicable through the whole process but the pain I’m going through is like nothing else. She’s consistently lied to my face even though I’ve caught her in lies multiple times. I’m just trying to keep pushing forward and doing what’s best for me now…

I’m staying single for the rest of my life. I’m going through a divorce from a marriage that lasted 4 years. She had a 7 year old autistic kid and she wanted security and I thought I’d do the right thing and make an honest woman out of her. She blames me now for not having more kids and how unhappy I was during our marriage. The pain and bullshit associated with everything happening and just the thoughts of getting back into dating make me sick. I enjoy my solitude and I have no desire to ever b…
