I try to get right, left, and international newspapers. I like seeing the varying perspectives and since everyone news source is biased I just try to cover all the biases. I’m very much about getting peer reviewed journals although peer reviewed journals also have their host of issues and bias. I’ve dated academics a fair bit so I’m used to all the tired rhetoric. Used to tell one professor he should take a shot anytime one of his colleagues mentioned the male gaze, or intersectionality.

I don’t go to reddit as a serious source for anything. Clearly you take these communities quite seriously.

Every community? Get off the internet kid. The irony of being on reddit saying someone is involved in an echo chamber.

I stay tuned into the news. I have never heard anyone say some woman was forced to do something criminal. In fact, for the most heinous crimes such as a mother killing her own children people absolutely revile that. Literally every single example you used I have never encountered. No one forces anyone to drink. Male victims are male victims. Parents are equally responsible for their children and if someone drops the ball then that person is responsible for dropping the ball. Everyone knows that …

I never assumed anything about you except that you are rude and self involved given your handle. People can be friends with whomever they want and not be friends with whoever too. That wasn’t the point of that comment. Not associating with someone on the basis of group status is intolerant especially when that is the only data about a person that you know. Also seems that neither of you understand what tolerance is. You don’t tolerate people you agree with, you tolerate someone when there is dis…

Raising the minimum wage increases job loss so thats something you have to contend with. Is it better to have less but better paid employees or more but needing welfare? They lose their jobs then those people will still need welfare. No the raising of tax dollars would not be for more programs but put to decreasing the debt we are putting on our children. Social security is going to be insolvent in less than ten years, medicare a couple years after that. If you completely decided to liquidate th…

Whatever, I only have eyes for my husband which kind of why I married him.

I don’t know some women are really into it as kind of a fetish.

Most people do not wish you dead. Republicans included. And if people do want you dead trust me they are not shy about telling you. I’m Jewish being told I belong in a gas chamber is a regular occurrence. So if they aren’t actually saying they want you dead they probably don’t.

And name calling too. Ad hoc attacks generally mean you have nothing of any substance to add. You are assuming that most conservatives do hate people based on being born or for not living in a certain way. There are a lot of different kinds of republican just as there are different flavors of liberal and left and they don’t all like each other or agree. Many of them are refusing to vote for Trump they find him that awful.

A lot of conservatives are conservative because they are fiscally conservative and they might have a point because we have a major debt crisis looming. Cutting services isn’t out of malice but because they see down the road that we as a country can’t afford it and they are hanging tight. The fiscal conservative thinks that we should be both raising taxes on everyone and cutting as much spending as we can. And they want to cut anything that can go because they genuinely think if we don’t get our …

My cousin is black and a Kentucky republican, seems more or less accepted. I mean I’d have to ask her if she has experienced prejudice or racism within that culture but she seems pretty dedicated to the ideological views.

I was left, he was old school conservative (not in any way pro- Trump) ended up married. I conceded some points he conceded others and now were both something like partyless centrists-ish. We have had some pretty intense debates and still do but we found a lot of common ground too. If you actually sit down and reason things out with each other and listen you may find flaws in your own beliefs. Other times you just don’t see eye to eye. Its not healthy to keep around only people who agree with yo…
