Thing is, his surgery wasn't "for medical reasons". Phimosis cannot be diagnosis until puberty. Until puberty phimosis is physiologic, as the foreskin adheres to the glans until the massive influx of hormones that comes with puberty. The Constitution has freedom of religion applying only to yourself, that freedom ends where another persons begins. This study is worse than useless. It has a sample size of less than 100. Not a single conclusion can be drawn from that. Not to mention there are at least 3 self citations which is a pretty big red flag in and of itself. Edit: side note I absolutely believe that it does reduce sensitivity, but this needs to be done on a large scale for any conclusions to be made. We should not use studies like this as evidence.

You are misinterpreting the use of no adverse effects. There is a difference between expected loss of sensitivity, which is not considered an adverse effect, and accidentally cutting the pudendal nerve which would be an adverse effect. "Pulling the plug" is only in cases where there is very little or no hope of recovery (i.e. brain death). And it is done first along wishes of the patient. No adverse effects and no loss of sexual satisfaction is not the same as no loss of sensitivity. That isn't even getting into the fact that men that get circumcised as adults almost all have some sort of issue, usually phimosis, which makes sex painful or very difficult. If you had pain during sex and you had the cause removed you may well have lost sensitivity but you'd be so glad to be able to have sex pain free that you wouldn't care.

It isn't even close to the same. For one the foreskin is more analagous to the the lips or cheeks in function as it is mucosa, so it would be more like cutting the lips off exposing your mouth to open air and letting it dry out. Which by the way is extremely bad for your mouth. Also the frenulum isn't always removed.
