Hope it helps someone. I agree. I would actually say it's even more pervasive than that, extending to the US and perhaps other "first world" nations. Lesbians seem to have a lot more space to exist freely without violence or harassment. Its very possible this is due to fetishization, and thats not good, but at the same token, the difference is between people being nicer to you for problematic preferences they have and openly committing a hate crime against you because you do not fit those preferences. It's another to actually internalize that truth when your very struggles seem inconvenient for the dominant "progressive" ideology.
