+Get into in martial arts. Something like boxing or Muay Thai. Helps you to build confidence, a athletic body and in emergency you can defend yourself. I completely agree with your point. I've replied to another comment with: "I don't want to get into detail with the disrepectful part, but it left a bad image of her in my head, I don't want or even need to change. She can do whatever she pleases to do, but I'm not interested in any more contact with her" The manipulative part mainly refered to her friends' attempts. My Ex was also manipulative at some points in our relationship but that's not relevant for this post.
