I want to believe this, but every woman I know my age in a relationship is getting abused. Some physical, some only intense emotional abuse where they turn into a different (sadder, more boring, stressed) person, and of course cheating (mental and physical). I don’t see one relationship that seems good, unless you count the guy who isn’t ready to settle down with his gf of 3 years but otherwise seems HV.

“Should” is a word my abuser uses during confrontations or when he’s mad about something I did or didn’t do. He always tells me what I should do. Would a HVM tell you what you should do this early on? No, he would simply establish his boundaries. So if he ended where the semicolon is, I’d not think the response was a red flag. He almost responded like there was a problem. He assumed a problem it seems like. Like he wanted to make sure you didn’t complain or tell him what to do. Like he went into…

Ideally, we need to get into tech and stuff like that in droves and create machines to do jobs and household duties. If we can make something to do jobs, make fresh food, clean, etc., they might be chill. There’s already sex robots in the making so that’s covered. We need to adapt quickly. If someone likes to be harmed… doesn’t that sound like a trauma response to you? Or at least coping or brainwashing? Doesn’t mean being harmed is a good thing…

I technically can’t prove you wrong, but I do know myself. If I exist, I know others like me exists. They seem most likely to be the people like me (edit: i acknowledge that some may be fake).

In my friend group we absolutely are not like that, not a single one of us. People’s eyes are often drawn to people who are like that. We’re here in plenty of number. Look harder for people who do the opposite of stick out. Then look for long-term consistency of empathetic character traits. Of course, if you’re not empathetic, self-improve to avoid being a nickel looking for a dime.
