I think it shows which gender naturally protects and defends.

But in an apocalypse equality doesn't always make sense.

Yes. It was a tactic by the British government to get more men to fight. Without which the war might not have been won. Millions of people owe their lives to the men who fought and the women how got then too.

And that would be wrong because we we should save equal amounts of men and women?

I'm not sure what the white Feather movement has to do with men being better fighters? We aren't disposable. We are essential

I have never had the desire to be a woman. I like being a man. I like doing manly things. I like good women, tasty food and strong drink. ...and I never want to change. “I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.”

So, you mentioned that the documentary was about male disposability. In relation to militarized forces being predominantly male, and therefore most deaths of those forces being male, how does this indicate disposability? I would have thought that this would solidify value of men rather than their disposability. Men are very good warriors. Wars have to be fought. We want the best of the best to fight for us. “We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit v…

Fair enough point, however, I find it disingenuous. To say that women want men to be woke and equal when it is safe but then if danger comes they don't want that equality is on the verge of being caddy. Are we not men? Do we not want to protect even as those we do protect complain of our misogyny? Or, do we instead want to bitch and moan about their hypocrisy? To the OP's original question: Why is it during such disaster scenarios, men are always treated as disposable meat shields that mus…

It doesn't prove the point of the post. It proves women do it. Men do it. Men do it more. Why? Because it is biological for men to protect and fight. Just as it is biological for women to protect the children. Look at the animal kingdom. The male pack leader fights for the females and offspring. Can the females fight? Yes, and they will. But the if the male doesn't he won't remain the leader. It is natural and right for a man to protect and fight for others. The man who fled the shooting i…

I searched "wife dies saving husband". Lots of results. You can also find many result involving a mother saving her children. Why is it unacceptable that men are expected to protect those they care for? Why should it be acceptable for men to flee, leaving those they are supposed to guard to face the threat alone?

Ok. You shouldn't behave that way in a professional environment. Her reddit posting is not a professional environment. I would say she is kind of hypocritical but if she had said her ending in the work place she should be fired. Just as anyone else would if they behaved unprofessionally.

Why did he propose and why the heck did she accept? Unknown. My internal monologue says they are both idiots. I was trying to draw a line between saving everyone (which is another discussion) and saving a loved one. Saving strangers can be trained (as well as instinctual). What do I say to that? I say do a simple google search. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/05/13/woman-stabs-intruder/2156343/ https://7news.com.au/news/sharks/pregnant-woman-jumps-into-water-and-saves-husba…

The guy that ran away and then proposed afterward...does not love her. If he did he wouldn't have abandoned his children and his girlfriend, run to the parking lot and driven away. "I love you but I only thought of myself as I left you to die and sped away in my car" The random stranger that helped the woman and children he didn't know escape death demonstrated love. "What greater love hath a man that lay down his life for his friend?" As for it being a learnable skill, please see the mili…

Really? I did one search and found multiple stories of wife's sacrificing themselves to save their husbands. Much to learn you have young padawan.

How can you love someone and not put their life before yours? How can you love someone and not put their interests, safety and security before yours? Is it a learnable skill to die for others? Sure. But this is in relation to "others" as in those you don't love. If someone points a gun at you and your SO and you don't attempt to save your SO but instead run away....you don't love them and you are not a good person.

I don't find it hard to be a man. I find it hard to live up to my expectations of myself.

You should not be mocked for not knowing something. Everyone didn't know what they know now at some point. Can I replace a door know or build a fence? Yes! Can I do electrical work? Probably...but I will probably hire it out. I would rather pay than do it wrong and burn down my house. Many times you will find that those who.make fun of lack of knowledge also dont know or do it wrong.

If you are in a relationship with some one you should be prepared to defend them at all costs, because you love them. I feel it is my duty and privilege to protect my family. Do men have lives of their own? Yes. But my life would be hell.if I let harm come to those I love and have promised to protect. Is a man not a real man if he isn't willing to die for those he loves? No. He is 100% a man. But, he might not be a good man.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
