I'm not a big fan of the slouchy/drop crotch look of the carrot pants though. I guess I'd have to try a pair on in person to really see. Also, do you know if its cheaper to take in the waist or taper below the knee? Where the hell can I find pants with large hips/thighs, with a tapered calf and small waist? I also have short legs (28-29" inseam) and a small waist, so the ratio becomes quite extreme. I've yet to venture into raw denim (I want to) but I have no idea where to start. Same goes for chinos and slacks. For a short guy with massive thighs/ass from squatting, where do I draw the line on tapering my pants before it looks comical at the change. I also have tiny feet (7.5-8.5 US on average), so I'm afraid that if I taper my pants that they'll look even more comical than leaving the lower leg slightly loose.
