Yes, this is all over the place. It's also embedded into law that female perpetrators are punished less, even and especially when the victims are children. You might think infanticide is the much more serious crime of murdering a child, but it's actually for giving more lenient punishments to women who murder children.

It's actually not illegal to enter private property when it's open. You aren't trespassing unless you cross/break a clear barrier or told to leave. However, I'm not trying to weasel her out of her obvious guilt on a technicality. She's objectively wrong even if the state don't uphold justice.
