However, the article does not specify what 'many' means. Moreover, it refers to FGM-T-I as clitoridectomy, but later it mentions that the clitoris should not be damaged in any way. Thus, it is clear, that clitoridectomy and even more severe practices are far more rare than WHO wants to suggest.

Are trans men considered legally as their chosen gender or as their assigned at birth gender? If the latter, I agree with you. If the former, I wouldn't ditch the case automatically, because then they're men with all the disadvantages. Nowadays feminists seem to turn their backs on LGBTQ ppl, especially on trans and gay men. All scientific articles I've found say that both the clitoris and the glans contain about 7000 nerve endings (I don't count feminist articles as scientific). However, the clitoris can be considered more sensitive, due to its smaller size. It makes sense because men and women are somewhat the mirror images of each other, so the numbers should be about the same.

If the foreskin proves to be disadvantageous or simply unnecessary, evolution will get rid of it, that's for sure. I wouldn't tatoo or cut any integral part of my child either. For the record, most commonly applied FemGM is way less harmful and way less intrusive than MaleGM (circumcision). However, the rarest form of FemGM is truly brutal. On the other hand, routine MaleGM procedures can go bad even in western countries, resulting in the loss of penis which is way-way worse than any kind of FemGM. Truth is, women rarely want to commit suicide. Their 'attempts' are really for getting some attention. They take a jar of sleeping pills or slit their wrists then even call 911 on themselves. Sometimes the ambulance isn't fast enough, shit happens. I saw in a documentary about Golden Gate Bridge suicides that a woman in the 80s jumped, survived and went back later that year to try again.
