Depending on the branch, most roles are not combat, and the military does indeed need people who can be organized like a secretary, the same as any organization.

I'm gonna call BS on you. I work at a major retailer that gets WIC transactions all the time. You only get a small amount of a few staple foods. Eggs, milk, juice, yogurt, bread, maybe peanut butter. Believe it or not, there exists cases where BOTH men and women need help to live. It's not being a freeloader, most social programs require you to prove you need the help or are actively seeking employment. And the fact that you're so far up your own rear end that you refuse to recognize that daddy …

Kay, you gonna pay for your great great grandfather's debt? No? How about your mother's hospital bill from when you were born? Now you're just accepting handouts from your parents. I'd bet you're also accepting handouts from your employer when he pays you.

I think the difference is that it's necessary but only for a smaller portion of the population, and while food stamps is available for everyone it's still something women living with limited income then have to account for. For a woman working a minimum wage job part time if she spends $200 annually on feminine products that's $200÷($9/hr•24hr/wk•52wk/yr)=1.8% of her annual income a 2% tax based on gender kinda sucks, especially making that little.

As a man I think government subsidised feminine products should be a thing. Like a food stamps but for feminine products. But kind of like WIC.

Disagree, some people just refuse to accept that they can't control others speech. As a society we've allowed the movement for political correctness to convince some people that they're entitled to it.

Why isn't it fair? Justice doesn't exist for anyone, there is no guarantee the right thing will ever happen, so why would we doom multiple people to a life of meaninglessness? The person with downs probably isn't happy, the parents probably aren't happy, and the insurance companies who pay out for them probably aren't happy.

Human nature? Like in mideival times when we murdered people because someone pointed and shouted witch? Or the Aztecs who sacrificed thousands at a single temple? Or the Spartans who only allowed the strongest young men to become citizens and allowed most of their children to die in training? Humans aren't as sympathetic as you think.

Humans aren't special, I'm sorry if you have trouble accepting that. And yes, humans are in fact people. I don't know why you think there's a difference?

To play the devil's advocate, from the perspective of an entire society, people with diseases like this will never be able to work and as such are only resource sponges who will never contribute to society, and in fact require the combined resources of two or more other grown adults just to survive.

I dunno about this, on one hand, usually a thoughtful conversation is the best approach to helping someone find self awareness, on the other hand, we have done little to hold adolescents back from worshipping social media and an intervention is someone's social circle pumping the breaks to tell a person that a change is needed.

I don't get why this is so hard for people here to understand. Stressing anyone's nervous system to this extent is going to affect them.

Why?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
