I agree with you. We should self reflect and try to better ourselves; the problem is most of us made compromises and gave up our lives to make this work. She is not happy right now and there were times when we were not too. We decided to not abandon the relationship, we continued to provide and do whatever it takes, often at the cost of our minds. Another thing is both people acknowledging their mistakes; I think you would agree that there is almost never only one person at fault for a marriage …

You are in much better place than many others who don’t even know why. Your wife seems like a reasonable person. Just try to be the best father to your kid and a good friend.

The fact that you are willing to say that you made mistakes in the relationship invalidates everything she is saying. I also agree that I did a lot of wrong this marriage, both of us did. But never have I heard her saying that she has ever done anything, it has all been me. I am a monster and deserve all the hate, spite and indifference. You are all right man, we acknowledge our faults and try to be better, that’s all we can do.

Exactly the same with me. Married for ten years and I just kept giving anything she wanted. Now I get told how I have ruined her life and what a manipulative scheming asshole I am. This and her family who mooch off her. I now feel everything was good until I agreed with what she and her family wanted, until I behaved the way they wanted. As soon as I said a word about how inconsiderate she can get, I was gaslighting her.It has honestly made me question myself, I have been depressed thinking I am…

Not dealing with her family, I treated them like my family but they showed me what matters is the blood in your veins. Sick of them acting like they always have the higher moral ground. Not hearing about equality and fairness. I did whatever was needed but she was always tired or needed time for herself or wanted to take care of her health while I was getting killed with work and taking care of everything at home.

I am not sure if I do.. I still hope we can work things out because I love my kid more than anything and not seeing her everyday will kill me.. I also can’t bear the thought of her not having a normal family

I am in that position right now. A SO that has never ever been wrong in ten years of marriage; their family that never thought they were wrong and enabled the behavior. I kept giving and giving but when I asked for something or spoke about something I did not like I became selfish and a gaslighter. Now we are just living in the same home like strangers. There is so much wrong we both did in this marriage but not sure how I am still the narcissist if I realize my faults but the other just believe…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
