As someone who's in a philosophy/ethics course, as you recommend, the person you're replying to is completely right, actually! Humans have a remarkable capacity for hypocrisy.

I certainly appreciated the clarification, because I'm one of those people that didn't know, lol!

"There's no such thing as an asexual man" ... Guess I'm not real? Interesting, lol

I can't speak for everyone, of course, but I'm asexual. My partner, well before we even got together, knew and was okay with this fact. We still have sex, and he's clearly satisfied with the frequency of it. I can see how that would be awful to someone who, well, isn't like me, though! And that's fine! Different people have their boundaries and limits. I've definitely gotten rejected by men and women (or had relationships end) because I'm ace.

Just gonna piggyback on your point, here, and agree that there's 100% some compatibility issues that could arise BECAUSE of someone's profession. Not even because of finances, necessarily! For example, my mother was an ER nurse. She worked 12hr shifts frequently, and sometimes wouldn't be home for 24-48hrs if they were more short staffed. This, among other reasons, was what prompted my parents to separate. My dad just wasn't happy being with someone he only got to see a couple days a week - IF t…

American here! I'll add a bit of context: In the beginnings of a relationship, asking about someone's job/career is one of the more innocuous go-tos when first trying to build rapport, regardless of intent (romantic/platonic/whatever). Another common one is asking about pets, for example, because most Americans have them, and we love talking about them! Lol Do you mind me asking what culture you're from, that this would be outside the norm? Just curious, is all!

I'm a 5'9 guy, ~130lbs, pretty skinny, with short dark hair and hazel eyes. I'm panromantic/demisexual, so I'm attracted to all genders for romantic relationships, and experience sexual attraction only if specific criteria (e.g., deep emotional connection) are met. I don't honestly care what a potential partner looks like. I've dated people taller than myself, shorter, muscular, slim, chubby, with and without body hair... I have to be attracted to them as a person, before I can be attracted to t…

Fair and reasonable! I just was curious if there was any sort of exception to your opinion on the matter. Thank you!

So, are all tattoos trashy to you? Sorry if that comes off as aggressive in any way, I'm genuinely curious! As a guy with several tattoos, I certainly have my bias on this subject, lol! To name some specific examples: My first tattoo was a memorial for my mother. I have one my brother chose for me. One for my spouse. One of religious significance. Would you consider those trashy?

I'm trans, so while I would love to be the opposite gender, I'm glad I'm not fully there yet because... Yeah. It fuckin sucks!! Y'all have it hard!!

For one thing, since it seems to matter so much, no, I do not lie about my "n-count". Like I said before, I haven't necessarily lied about my sexual history, ever. I'm actually quite happy with the experiences I've had, generally speaking. To clear any confusion, I've left some specifics out. Never outright lied about it, but some consider lies of omission to count. The only things I feel one is obligated to tell a sexual partner is if they have any STDs/STIs - and that's to come before the sexu…

People can assign whatever moral connotations to another's behavior that they want. I personally don't think enjoying sex and seeking it out are inherently bad things. I would lie about my history, too, with someone who seems rather judgemental - as a matter of fact, I have. Maybe not necessarily about sexual history, but I've lied about some things out of a fear of being judged. To draw a parallel, I'm a recovering alcoholic who is trying to grow from my past. If people constantly used my past …

Thank you! I wish I had the skill with words you do, you've said exactly what I was thinking and feeling!!

Right? So many people act like, say, having colorful hair and tattoos, makes someone slutty. My sluttiness is totally unrelated to my green hair, damnit! Haha!

I see flaws in that logic: I've had hair colored damn near anything under the sun (currently green, hence my interest), and I have six tattoos; my body count is pretty low. My girl friend, who has blue hair, is a virgin. My friend, who has a tattoo, also happens to be a virgin. One of my other friends who has more tattoos than I do, has slept with... Maybe two people.

I have green hair and I'm an anxious introvert who has only had sex with a few people, and lost the v-card at 19 (22 now). I smoke and have six tattoos; see aforementioned bits about anxiety, introversion, and "low n-count". I have exactly one slutty girl friend, a lot of slutty guy friends, and then some other, arguably not-slutty, friends. I'm bisexual and proud after years of self-loathing; this, and everything else mentioned, doesn't somehow make me easy. The only person I know that wears th…
