My wife wants a divorce and we’re still living in the same house. I feel like I’m losing everything. This is not the right way. Children feel the burden of the divorce and, depending on their age, they may not even understand it. My son (4) asked me after more than 10 months when I would come home completely unaware of everything, despite the conversation. The worst that can happen is that they put themselves in the position of judge because then they take the burden of the marriage's failure on themselves. This is definitely not something that is good to expose children to. I understand all th… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/04/25 10:00 AM
Loss of friends and changes in lifestyleOf course, there was more to the complexity of relationships between me and other guys than that. I can see my kids twice every week on working days and every second weekend of the month (Friday to Sunday) they get to spend with me. Rehearsals are usually on Fridays. Also, the gigs are mostly on weekends (and I'm not available every other weekend). No one wanted to change their schedule, and every other Friday was too little commitment for them from my side. I couldn't come to the last two rehea… | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/04/25 09:20 AM
Loss of friends and changes in lifestyleNice! ☺️ I love Chicago, I even played some of their stuff on piano. Ceretas vocals are gold. Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a listen. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/04/25 05:31 AM
Loss of friends and changes in lifestyleYou're right about married guys feeling threatened and questioning their own safety and comfort. Having a healthy relationship isn't something that comes easy rather something you work for. We are all human and fail sometimes. That is okay to fail, but wrong not to admit it. I have a feeling that it is easier for people to remove the threat than to face it. On the other hand I never claimed in front of anyone it is okay for people to come to divorce, especially when they have kids. It is a sad e… | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/04/25 05:27 AM
Loss of friends and changes in lifestyleYeah, that is the same thing that I think. I didn't ask for help or anything, I just wanted them to be around. It is easy to be friends when times are convenient. Ironically I helped most of them at some point in life, now when I'm down they are gone. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/04/25 05:06 AM
RantYou are still young, even if you don't think that's the case. You can have everything you want. There is enough time. My word of advice is don't rush it. There are reasons why things didn't work out in the first place. Your job is to determine those reasons that are concerning you, not her. Focus on yourself and take time to be the best you can. If the two of you didn't have kids you are a free bird and be happy for it. The right woman will come when the time is right and the less pressure you p… | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/04/25 04:50 AM
Loss of friends and changes in lifestyleI was a drummer but I also play piano. Now I'm focused on piano stuff more but sometimes miss drumming. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/25 03:29 PM
You winDear friend, many men here went through this. I used to think the same... Take it until you can for as long as you can, always fighting, always having something to sacrifice, proof and display that you are worthy of love and appreciation. It's all wrong because the only person stopping you from seeing your woth is actually you. The question is why have you ended up with a partner like this and have you learnt to set the healthy boundaries for yourself? Just the fact you're giving this so much th… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/04/25 06:54 PM
