I’m from the south US and when we say “provide for our family” we are talking in a strictly financial sense. If a guy says “I want to find a woman who can provide for my family”, where I come from people would be assuming he wanted to marry a woman to provide for him financially.

I know you don’t have to go that far, but that’s what makes the joke work. If I said kissing it would be too straight forward with no humorous subtext. The eyehole is what makes the comment worth posting.
