Media can say whatever it wants because of the first amendment; however, there’s a point when it becomes defamation which can have legal action brought and due process is still observed even in civil issues. It’s not in court. It’s called due process which is a fundamental right of all Americans, therefore it is ‘enforced’ in court; that doesn’t mean it doesn’t still apply when not in court. I used to work in a local large metropolitan sheriffs office, and we had a lot of rapists in about “bad boy blocks”.
