Might be unrelated but in Finland we call Valentine's day Ystävänpäivä which translates to Friend's day. Although the theme is still lovey with hearts and chocolates it feels more wholesome and inclusive of us with no partner :)

He just feels very mean spirited. The way he talks about women is so irritating, he's so shallow and sexist. I mean the funny thing is, I don't hate the show either. There were a couple of times I chuckled or thought something was nice. It's just that the bad outweighs the good way too much for me. It's a shame because I went in open minded and expected and pushed myself to like it.

I always ask women to question why they remove body hair. It's never as straight forward as you think. "I just like it" -Why? "It's hygenic" -Do you believe that about men's body hair? Have you looked for the evolutionaty reason for body hair? "It looks more beautiful" -Who wants you to think that? "Everyone does it so I want to fit in" -Do you do everything for that reason, do you genuinely believe that it makes YOU happy?

I also loved the Babadook. Personally I try to stick to ghost movies because I could not care less for gore and other things mentioned by OP. The Conjuring franchise is okay, if the christianity doesn't turn you off. It Follows is also alright, Annihilation was quite different and interesting. Would love if someone made a list of good horror movies that don't involve misogyny/r*pe/torture/gore. I also enjoyed Get Out but I realize that for many of you poc out there it might be just as exhausting…

Same situation as my sister. She engages in polyamory because her needs aren't met with her "primary" partner and out of insecurity and unhappiness she seeks out others. Her heart is broken every couple of months and will get extremely angry if anyone advises her to slow down for a while. I 100% agree with this. Whenever I express my genuine issues with porn/sex work, people just write me off by saying stuff like "why is that your problem just don't watch it". I've tried avoiding it. Doesn't work. I still live in the same society that porn sick people live in, pretending that I'm not treated unfairly won't make it so.

Wow, I went through the exact same thing with my ex. I'm so sorry that happened, I know how hurtful that betrayal is. It's crazy that making this post and receiving comments like yours is the first time I've ever that I have felt heard. I also still struggle daily and have cut out most media and pretty much all anime from my life (I also started picking up new and old hobbies like excerising etc).
