I don't understand your anger, and I don't think it makes a guy beta to value a LTR. I've had LTRs, FWB, hook ups, all the like. I actually prefer LTR the most. Extremely scary once you get redpilled to it. Studied abroad last summer and almost every girl who had a bf who wasn't present, cheated. Likely because the odds of getting caught were so low. Most women don't actually value the commitment, rather they weight the risk of getting caught and damaging their social structure.

That's close. But an important distinction is that the South was cognizant that a federal vote on slavery was slipping out of their control as western states were being established as anti-slavery. This meant that a hypothetical vote would win in outlawing slavery on a federal level.
