Finding a divorce attorney?How did you look at a few hundred cases? | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/06/23 01:50 PM
Finding a divorce attorney?Any divorce lawyers want to chime in? I’m an attorney but don’t do family law. All I know is that you you have to truthfully disclose info during the discovery process. So yeah, you can lie to your lawyer and say I don’t have anything, and the lawyer will then proceed on that info. But if and when the other side hits a forensic accountant and finds your hidden assets, be prepared to be destroyed by the court. And yes, the rich play a different game and can afford to get away with it. But the reg… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/06/23 07:00 PM
Finding a divorce attorney?Pretty sure you are required during the discovery process to honestly answer interrogatories. And give honest answers in depositions, since you are under oath. After all, why would a court need to know accurate marital assets in order to order an equitable division? But go ahead and believe what you want. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/06/23 05:28 AM
Serious question…Agreed. But if she makes a lot less, I’d have no problem contributing more money as long as the time and emotional support is there. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/06/23 06:22 PM
Serious question…This. This is exactly right, and is what I’d want in a relationship in exchange for my time, money, and emotional support. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/06/23 05:07 PM
Finding a divorce attorney? That’s the correct legal advice. Hiding/not disclosing assets is against the law, and advising a client to do this is malpractice at best, a crime at worst. If you want a lawyer to advise you otherwise, you’ll need a mob lawyer. Someone who is a a criminal themselves. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/06/23 02:36 AM
Just curious to know. How many of y’all had people who thought you were a lucky guy because your wife was attractive but in reality the only thing you were getting was starfish sex and she never initiated ?My dream woman would be a teacher. She’d get holidays and summers off, but still have a reasonable career. When I said “career” woman in my previous post, I meant high-powered career, ie doctor, lawyer, executive. A type A woman. Never again. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/06/23 06:11 PM

Just curious to know. How many of y’all had people who thought you were a lucky guy because your wife was attractive but in reality the only thing you were getting was starfish sex and she never initiated ?Unless you are talking about Jesus, you are correct, I don’t know what saved means in the way you are using it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/06/23 11:53 PM
Just curious to know. How many of y’all had people who thought you were a lucky guy because your wife was attractive but in reality the only thing you were getting was starfish sex and she never initiated ?It’s not a high conflict marriage, so I’m trying to not blow up the kids’ lives. I’ve got one starting college, and one starting high school. I’m trying to preserve stability for them. She’s never around, but I am around a lot, I keep an eye on them, spend time with them, and take care of them. I’ve got a really great relationship with my kids. Last thing I want to do is get into a custody battle over my son. So I’m biding my time. I’ve made it 24 years (albeit only the last 5 have gotten really… | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/06/23 09:27 PM
Just curious to know. How many of y’all had people who thought you were a lucky guy because your wife was attractive but in reality the only thing you were getting was starfish sex and she never initiated ?Amazing, congratulations! Sometimes you have to be with the wrong person in order to find the right person. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/06/23 09:20 PM
Just curious to know. How many of y’all had people who thought you were a lucky guy because your wife was attractive but in reality the only thing you were getting was starfish sex and she never initiated ?I’m so sorry my friend. That is much worse than my situation. Glad you have divorced her and are happy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/06/23 06:07 AM
Just curious to know. How many of y’all had people who thought you were a lucky guy because your wife was attractive but in reality the only thing you were getting was starfish sex and she never initiated ?Mine is a workaholic and too busy to have an affair. She’s basically abandoned me and the kids for her job, so I’ve been the one in charge of the kids and house. And I work full time, too, and am a lawyer. Despite being busy, I’ve made time for the kids so they have at least one parent around. I can’t wait to be rid of her and find a nice, sweet woman who actually wants to be a wife and companion. I’ll never marry a career woman again. I’ve drilled it into my son, too. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/06/23 03:43 AM
Just curious to know. How many of y’all had people who thought you were a lucky guy because your wife was attractive but in reality the only thing you were getting was starfish sex and she never initiated ?Me. She’s attractive and a doctor, too. But fucking bossy and bitchy and terrible in bed. I can’t stand her. Just waiting for my youngest teen to finish high school so I can get out. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/06/23 12:58 AM
Cheating Ex is SPIRALING....OP needs to stay in the loop re his ex for the sake of his children. Monitor the situation, watch out for your kids, and beg, borrow, or steal that 25k for sole custody, because your kids safety depends on it. She is fucking crazy and you have to protect your kids. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/06/23 03:35 AM
Forgive the rant but I need to air all this out.Ah man, you definitely gave it 110%. And hindsight is 20/20, right? You were not foolish, you were being optimistic. But you see it for what it is now. Good luck brother, you will find a much better woman who will appreciate you for the good man you are. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/06/23 03:13 AM
Forgive the rant but I need to air all this out.I thought this post was satire at first. Surprised you stuck around as long as you did, especially with no sex. You are a better man than me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/06/23 01:36 AM
Strategy/preparation for filing for divorce in 1 yearThank you everyone for your advice. Your experience is invaluable and I greatly appreciate it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 04:54 PM
Strategy/preparation for filing for divorce in 1 yearThat would suck if he chose to live with his mother, but it is possible. But he’s seen how irrational she can be and has mentioned it to me on several occasions. He’s even told me that he wouldn’t blame me if I divorced her (after she was nasty towards me for no particular reason). I just tell him mom is under a lot I’d pressure from work. But I’m the one who takes him out for dinner, we go to the movies together, I’m the one sis helped him with school issues, etc. Even if the wife is home and I… | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 01:04 PM
Strategy/preparation for filing for divorce in 1 yearThank you for the advice. I have thought about trying to wait another 4 years to get my son through high school. And not daughter through college. I don’t want to blow up their lives. But 4 years is a long time. I’ll at least go see a few different attorneys per your advice. I also do have some cameras set up inside the house for security and we’ll make sure they working in case I’m hit with false charges. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 12:58 PM
Strategy/preparation for filing for divorce in 1 yearI have control of the assets as I pay the bills and balance the checkbook. I have the passwords for the bank accounts and the investment accounts, she doesn’t have them. All she does is work. She leaves everything else up to me. However, she does have a lot of money in her business account that I don’t have access to. I’m going to make an appointment with a good divorce lawyer and get the lay of the land. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 04:20 AM
Strategy/preparation for filing for divorce in 1 yearShe’s attractive, so she probably will have men interested. But she won’t have time to date, too many patients to see and money to make! Also, courts take into account the wishes of a minor that is 14 or older. My son will 100% want to live with me. The judge will take that into account. And as a local attorney with a good reputation, and the fact that I know most of the judges, I’ll hopefully be treated fairly. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 03:23 AM
Strategy/preparation for filing for divorce in 1 yearI appreciate your thoughtful comment, but I doubt it. I’ve asked her to cut back, offered to downsize the household, etc. She has refused at every turn. At this point, I really dislike her and am deeply resentful at her putting her career before her family. She’s given up on talking to our daughter because, in typical teenage fashion, our daughter can be a pain. I’ve done my best to keep the wheels on the family wagon but I’m just done pulling double duty (dad and mom) at home. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 02:01 AM
