First option is the most preferable, unless you actually have something to gain other than rejection and some hurtful comments from her (like an actual mature response to a question about something from back then; otherwise you have your answer) Second option is too immature and dramatic, unless <read the same statement from the above paragraph> Third is the worst: you have nothing to gain and so much to lose apart from your dignity. Don't do that

Yes, different personalities yield different results. And, usually, younger siblings tend to be more confident and outgoing that their elder ones because they just have to retrace their footsteps and have them as role models, unlike the oldest sibling

Both of these situations would be a big turn-off for me. Sorry ladies, but trying to show off to me how desired are you would leave me to the impression that you don't actually value your "potential partners" and you just want to feel wanted. Yikes!

Not necessarily. For someone with a batshit crazy sense of humor like me, this convinces me to live it rather than hide it

You're not living outside US to see how sometimes (or too many times) uneducated people also get rich, but that's a discussion for another time. So you say that women "throw themselves" at men that are only highly educated and rich, not because they know how to communicate and socially calibrate, how to get their shit together, put things in motion and can provide for them and a future family. Understandable, have a nice day

Dude, you're really frustrated about this and so eager to defend the "nice guys" that, based on the other comments you've made in this post, I don't believe you even have the maturity to even understand what we're telling you. I hope that r/niceguys will make you think more about it.

Newsflash: not many people actually care about scientists. It's cruel, but that's how common society works for even centuries. Also, when he married the first time in '65 he was not rich and he was an unknown; just starting his research in the field, as cripple as he was becoming. This means that it doesn't take to be rich, attractive or a celebrity in any way. So stop finding excuses like external factors and start acting and figuring out why it doesn't work for your particular case.

I don't "suggest" it, I say it. I saw many guys and girls considered "ugly" by local or universal standards actually get together with someone who considered they are what they want. If you don't believe me, see for yourself how many wives Stephen Hawking had, for how long and how many children.

Because there are actually no universal standards that would make you "dateable". While some positive traits might get you attractive enough for many that they would want to date you or even be in relationships with you, that doesn't mean they will last or that everyone will want the same. People are different and want different things. And given that, the most you can do is to "tend to your own garden": be yourself, be your values, be what you stand for and respect other people's differences an…

This. Giving short answers like "I'm just going home" is telling nothing about your interests, your hobbies or your life in general and gives off a hurried vibe or that you didn't enjoy the conversation. Try to work on how to carry on a conversation by detailing or showing a hint of interest during it; it's a process after all. And, at the end, you can actually take the plunge and either ask them for their number or giving them yours by saying something like "I enjoyed our conversation and I wou…

"common knowledge" as soon as there's a father or even some good quality friends to teach them this. But many of them don't even have much of a social life to speak of, so they will continue running circles around the Nice Guy mentality with no one to get them out of it. "Have I ever told you the definition of insanity?"

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
