Thanks for the reply and giving me something to chew on.

You stole mine! Yes, agreed. Start out sitting face to face. When you’re confident in a connection, come up with a reason to sit on her side.

You’re going to get a bad reputation at the gym if you haven’t already. You can absolutely ask a girl out at the gym (I’ve argued for it many times), but it’s one of the most inopportune places to do so. Again, I’m not saying don’t do it. I’m saying it should be done sparingly, and only if you’ve mastered the emotional and social toll that can come with it. (Which, not to sound like an asshole, but it sounds like you haven’t mastered them.)

I think you’re blowing this out of proportion. Does it matter?

A good make out session is based on the same principal that makes you “a good kisser.” It all comes down to matching your partner. You respond to what they’re doing in kind. They slide their tongue under your upper lip? Tongue is game. They kiss small and quick? Well don’t go for a long sensual kiss, dummy. You can also throw out your own signals, but if they’re not reciprocated (and you want to have a good experience / leave a good impression) don’t stick with it.

In part, those are things she likes. She loves when a man is nice, gentle, romantic, sensitive, compliments her, and brings her chocolates. Those are the forefront memories she has of the men she has been attracted to. (Whatever hypothetical girl this is.) What she doesn’t remember liking, all the subtle, subconscious, and unorthodox shit, is not recalled, even though they played a huge part in her attraction. All the times she didn’t get what she wanted, all the times she thought something was …

I think the parent-child analogy is more about the task-goal orientation than the power dynamic. The analogy could be made in any task-goal situation, doctor and patient, salesman and customer, etc. I fully believe the majority of dating advice you get from women, as a man, is fruitless. What women (generally) want and what they (generally) say they want are two very different things. EDIT: I also think it depends on how you approach the solicitation of advice... “Why don’t girls like me?” 🥺 Wil…

I was 21 when I lost my virginity. Not even a good experience. For 4 years I couldn’t talk or hold eye contact with women. I had extreme anxiety, attention issues, and depression because of it. Only time I met women was through Tinder, which landed me one hot girl, a handful of people I didn’t really want to be with, and a whole shit ton of bitterness. I’m 26 now and am leagues ahead of where I was this time last year. I wouldn’t say I’m good at seduction, but I know what it takes and am making …

I’ve actually just started doing this in a miniature way even when I’m not leaving. I’ll say something like “we’re going to get together soon” or something along those lines to prime the idea of getting together. Then I’ll be busy for a day or two, and a few days later I’ll actually go to set it in stone.

Messaging constantly will rarely work. The best way I’ve found success on dating apps is an unorthodox one. I end up meeting people most often when one of us is gone for an extended amount of time. 2-4 weeks being the best. I chat then up really well for a day or two and then ask them to hang out when they/I get back. Why does this work? It does two things. It gets them to agree to meet you without having to commit to meeting you. It plants the idea of getting together without the painstaking ta…

I think the greatest avenue to loving yourself is through success. Now, let’s be honest, you want to be sexually active. Lying to yourself isn’t going to make you like yourself more. Can you jump straight into being sexually active, especially with the people you want to be sexually active with? Unlikely. And your lack of success will make you bitter, the opposite of the direction you want to move. So how do you find success? Multi-faceted approaches to success. There are a million things to be …

The only thing that makes a man alpha is his disinterest in earning someone’s approval, which stems from his approval of himself. (Note this doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about others or their response to his actions and statements.) Alpha = confident and content You cannot be alpha (such a dumb term) and desperate, because you cannot be happy with yourself and desperate. They’re mutually exclusive.

Outside of the usual (common ground, mutual interests, etc.), vulnerability. Everyone has issues. When someone can share those vulnerabilities with you they will like you. Unfortunately, this has to be reciprocal. As a man, this makes things difficult. You have to admit your issues to them, but sparingly and without it seeming like a big issue. Personally I quite like the “vague” approach where you admit something without them being able to nail it down. “I used to have big issues with the way I…

In my personal experience, no. If you’re desperate you’re desperate. If you try to hide it, you look desperate and disingenuous. The only way I’ve fought my desperation, and subsequent neediness, is through finding love for myself.

My assessment watching many successful guys is that you need to be able to curb aggression. That can be done very successfully in one of two ways, through your own violence or through calming direction. The most successful man I’ve ever met has never been in a fight, but he’s been threatened and defended himself and his friends countless times.

It’s simple. You have to like yourself more than the idea of her. It’s simple, and very difficult.

“Women.” They’re “females” as far as biology class is concerned, but leave that term for the bio exam. If a woman is into yoga, she’s probably more likely to be interested in someone who is more static focused. If a woman is into running, she’s more likely to be interested in a runner. If she lifts heavy, she’s more likely to be interested in a big boy. If she lifts regularly to stay strong and fit but doesn’t do anything over the top, she’ll more likely be interested in a fit for fit’s sake fel…

Depends on the girl. The odds of it being a dealbreaker are notably higher if she is very fit, as she judges it an important aspect of herself she may likely view it as an important aspect who whoever she could potentially be interested in. It’s almost all in the eyes.

I’m of the mindset that the vast majority of people want to interact with me. Guys as friends, and girls as friends or more. I’ve taken to starting the interaction with both groups on the grounds that I think that while they probably want to interact with me they don’t know how to start interacting with me. But I do know how to start interacting with them. It might seem one sided, and it usually is, but moreso because I’m better socially than they are than because they don’t care at all. And wha…

Thanks for the input and I’m not trying to be negative, just expanding some: Coffee isn’t a good late afternoon thing. Dinner is good, but that’s fairly “big” and requires a decent chunk of commitment on her side. It’s a lot less easy than showing up for a beer. The museum is a great idea if they’re open that late. I don’t honestly know if are or not. I’ll look into that.

I feel like you’ve already answered your question in your question. It seems like you are both of those things. One of them isn’t the real you while the other is fake. Or, if one is, then there’s also your answer.

One thing to remember is how to move the conversation forward without reinventing the conversation. For example when she said “I’ve been working on it for a month off and on” there are a million things you could have said as a continuation of that train of thought. Instead, you started from scratch with “what else do you do.” Hell, you even could have asked that question without it seeming like a restart. For example: “Oh off and on. When you’re not working on it, what else do you like to do?” T…

Yes and no. People don’t “prefer to hold onto their misery,” moreso that the human brain is wired through repetition, not through desire. (EDIT: “Wishing every day for something doesn’t count as dedication.”) Memories, emotional responses, and everything else is based on literal, physical connections of neurons. Simply telling yourself to “be yourself” when the makeup of your brain is imprinted with “don’t be yourself” is a fruitless task. Not to say I disagree with accepting your quirks, tics, …

I always leave a “blah blah ball is in your court” and move on. Sometimes they come back, sometimes they don’t. Either way I did my due diligence and they’re the ones who need to pull some weight.

Completely situationally dependent. It depends 100% on how the date went and where you’re both at mentally. You need to be interested but not needy. Simple concept, hard when you don’t have a good read on the situation. How interested was she? Does she already have the impression you’re needy? Is she ready to have sex with you? There’s a lot more than “does she want to go on another date” and “is 3 days too long/short”

No. Studies show that people are mostly interested in others who share their interests, style, personality, and values.

Do whatever you want. Personally I’m very picky about who I date, so I have less experiences. Otherwise, though, I don’t find those experiences particularly inviting. It’s a trade off. Do whichever interests you.

Let it ride. Go back to your typical work relationship. She’ll either weasel her way back into a date, or you can mention the failed attempt in passing after awhile, which could prompt a conversation about trying again. Don’t get your hopes up though.

Generally speaking, yes absolutely. You’re more likely to seem attractive if you have options, and you’re more likely to have options if you’re attractive. They play into each other. This is especially true for men.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
