The purpose of insurance is to spread risk around. If men are more risky on average, the insurance company has to take this into account when taking on a male client. It's just a fact.

That is the point, gulljack. It is wrong to call any demographic group superior to another. "Would it be appropriate for an educational institution to say that men were better than women?" just highlights how wrong HBS's statement is.
