Admitting there's a problem is the first healthy step. Also, making sure you welcome diverse perceptions will keep you grounded and well-rounded. Try this site on for size, this guy is fairly opposite, which might help: https://thebettermanprojects.com/

Well I've yet to be exposed to any contrary evidence. Why would I change my view without evidence? I don't understand, there's a wealth of information out there in behavioral sciences that show that we're not all the same. Who we're attracted to varies greatly on so many factors. We're learning that there are multiple sexes and things we once understood have changed. Look, I'm sorry that your experiences have been so limited, but this is a recovery sub for those wanting to leave the toxic Red Pi…

It's simply not true, but the way you say this makes me believe that you're a supporter of Red Pill theory still. Am I incorrect?

One of the issues with Red Pill (again, another argument against) is that it treats and teaches you to think that women are these unthinking uncontrollable beings who are completely controlled by their animal hamster brain. If you truly believe that, you're not going to see anything else, no matter how much information is thrown at you that contradicts it. There is science that proves it's a thing and there's science that argues against it and that it might be less biological and more of a tradi…

The problem with Red Pill, MGTOW, and the like is that their issue is usually "codependency" from being raised by mentally ill parents, controlling, and/or addicts in a dysfunctional dynamic (codependency has been a very talked about issue for many decades). One of the emotions that codependent people have issues expressing... anger/rage. They try to relabel the issues which only further confusion and prevent people from getting the specific help they need. They blame women for their issues, but…

No, and if that's what you got out of that, you're in need of more help than this support group can offer. Other people have already told you many times, based on your account history, that you're distorted thinking processes (officially called "cognitive distortions" and fallacies) are what's causing your issues. You're under the belief that you're right, no matter how much statistics and education is thrown your way. Nobody can help you unless you want it and it doesn't seem like you want it. …

Yeah, it's a cult with cognitive distortions galore and teaches distortions to other people. You can slap these people with statistics all day long and nothing will change. They're just 'flat earthers' of that genre.

that's why I know most of them talk one way and act the other You mean subconscious and conscious behaviours? Literally how every human is, not just women. Do you think women are the only ones that function this way? Every human has their conscious behaviors and then the subconscious ones we're driven by (past hurts, shameful desires, etc). Human behaviour 101. This isn't just women. This is why it's important to learn how to become self-aware through education or... therapy. Not everyone is bor…

When it comes to masculinity and how men are supposed to look: There is only one body type women like and it is so obvious. Men need to be pure muscle, have beards and need to have perfect skin. While I want to give you sympathy, we can only give you so much when it comes to close-minded thinking like this. You know this isn't true, but thinking helps feed that victim 'woe is me' mentality. I'm a woman and as long as you're not morbidly obese, I find myself looking beyond a man's looks if his he…

Yeah, I wasn't aware of it since PUA stuff keeps getting rebranded, but yeah, here's a Twitter post from Julien Blanc himself on "how to make her stay" and it's literally tips on a poster of how to spot domestic abuse. As a physical and mental abuse survivor, this is horrifying that men are being taught this with a 'self-help' label.

I try to stay neutral when it comes to my opinions, but from what I researched, the ones that got deleted are promoting a more P.U.A. type training, which in recent years, has crossed the line into psychological abuse. Unfortunately, many people cannot see that until it's too late and/or they're not properly educated on what abuse looks like inside of a relationship and what to do. Many promote things like the "silent treatment" to control, negative reinforcement, push/pull strategy, and the lik…

What causes bitterness? Do you think thats why red pill/incel types can't seem to succeed or at least cheer up. Ultimately, it's our expectations for how things should work, but don't. Incel types are usually prone to depression, and in many cases, depression can be remedied with therapy because therapy helps us see that our unrealistic expectations lead us to deep sadness, anger, etc. (Not all cases of depression are like this, of course, but many people suffer from dysfunctional coping mechani…

And specifically speaking, we have to feel all those emotions we bury to process it properly. Going to a 12-step program can really help, OP. They helped me deal with what addicts put me through and all the trauma, but also helped me understand the addict better. They're usually free and pretty much everywhere.

This happened to me after I first got exposed to TRP views through a follower (I'm a woman, he's a man). I was in disbelief for most of it and appalled at the way he was treating me after he found TRP: push/pull, ghosting/"nexting", punishing with silence, etc. He went from treating me the best anyone ever treated me to absolute trash. What I didn't realize is that is that the way he treated me started to expose all my baggage from my past and did force me into therapy to deal with my shit that,…

PUA are just attracted to women with attachment disorders from a dysfunctional upbringing. They like these women because they, too, were from dysfunctional upbringing (single and/or controlling, narcissistic, BPD, bi-polar mothers). The women's 'red flag' radars are broken because of a lifetime of abuse (whether emotional, physical, etc.) and so they literally can't tell when someone's a scum bag because that's their normal. They fall for PUA stuff and it makes them easier to control because the…

"game" doesn't work, then what does? "Game" is just re-packaged manipulation. If you look up the actions of game and an abusive relationship, you'll see many many similarities. Stockholm Syndrome-ing a girl is how they're able to continue that game, but it'll bite them in the ass eventually. Dealing with your mental health issues, dressing decently, taking good care of body hygiene and all that isn't new and wasn't developed by TRP. Minus the abusive behavior, doing the latter is a good way to s…

This is so true. They infiltrated the /r/Stoicism and /r/DecidingToBeBetter sub recently to. There was a post about 'come join our Stoicism and philosophy Discord' so, of course, I joined. It was an outright ruse. Literally nothing on other philosophies except TRP. I was pissed because I went for Stoic discussion and then got insulted when they found out I was a woman ("you're a dumb bitch", etc.). Something happened to them when they got quarantined. I don't know if they lost a lot of followers…

I am a severe abuse victim and survivor. I was beaten by leather belts on bare skin for years, manipulated, unloved and more. I get it. I was a textbook 'trauma girl' that TRP loathes with a passion, but I also got help and recovered. I'm now just a 'normal' girl. But before I got help, I fell into traps like the TRP because I was unsure of myself, my self-esteem was low because I spent my life unloved, and truly believed a man couldn't love me. I believed those groups had all the answers I was …

Look, you very clearly are still holding tightly to Red Pill knowledge. You came here to fight, not for help. We can tell you that it's not gospel and show you science until we're blue in the face, but it won't change the mind of someone not ready to "disconnect". The truth is, you'll find as you get older and wiser, that there are compelling arguments to a lot things groups will say, but not one group has all truth. If they did, they certainly wouldn't treat it like a 'fight club' and keep it s…

guys are born into lies such as "just be yourself" "it will just happen one day" and you will find someone "who will love you for who you are". and that just isnt how the world works. You know women are told the same things, right? The reason why those things are still said is because they are mostly accurate. If you're choosing right and not choosing shallow and egotistical "HB9" people, it can and does happen. The world isn't what you see on social media. Yeah, society puts too much attention …

how can you deny some of the most basic truths of RP? Look up the logical fallacy called "cherry picking", then look up all the signs of a cult. The reason why nobody can deny certain things they say, is because some of the science is accurate, however, it's cherry picked to fit a certain agenda. It's not the whole picture. But that's exactly how they pull you in, and any group that teaches you to mistreat a certain group of people, especially based on their self-admitted "nature", is wrong. hyp…

Not at all accurate, but it is a bit awful for someone to think so negatively about me without even knowing me. Honestly, I'm just not confrontational and I don't enjoy debate circles. He's grounded in his beliefs and I know better than to get in those debates. There's nothing to translate.

I can't even with this. I'm gonna go in circles with you, so I'm bowing out. You should pick up some books and expand your mind instead of relying on one belief system. You do you, man.

Go into /r/asktrp ... The answers will solely be about your own behaviour and what you did. That's the problem. Many of the behaviors they deem as crazy or unacceptable are normal human behavior. They want submission, which is fine, as they present themselves as Alpha. However, their behaviors are abusive, not Alpha. What they preach isn't accurate. It's cherry-picked. If you want to be Alpha, fine. If you want a submissive woman, fine. But, don't make a secure woman insecure just to feed your e…

TRP also is convinced of it working because very normal human behavior is exhibited after certain actions (because, duh, human behavior). A + B = C For example, when most people are ignored or "nexted" (cough, abusive silent treatment, cough) by someone they love, there's a set pattern of behaviors that a human will go through (typically the stages of grieving) due to a very primal instinct - fear of ostracism or removal from social circle. These are generally a normal progression of emotional s…

The thing about early childhood trauma is that it's all we know, we've always been like that, so many of them don't think they need help (thankfully, mine was on the PTSD spectrum and not BPD). It's our egos that convince us we're "fine", especially with trauma. It took me a lot to understand how badly I was hurting inside and I truly didn't understand what 'better' felt like. Trauma is a mind warp, especially early childhood trauma. With some, sure, it might be intentional, but I can bet that m…

I make a habit of never asking for money to stay out of stereotypes, so... I don't think you can group people. Things like this are almost entirely dependent on the person.

BPD is a trauma-based disorder. Yeah, they can seem crazy, but it's how they learned to cope with crazy. They need therapy, not to be made fun of.
