I always wonder if people who have to argue in bad faith ever get tired of it. Or if it ever makes them reexamine their position. I think I would find it exhausting.

That’s interesting because you responded to this comment I made and said you would consider it internalized misandry. Your comment isn’t showing up in the thread but I can see it in my notifications. Can you elaborate on why you responded that it would be internalized misandry in response to my more general question but seem to change your opinion in a more specific situation?

I frequently see this rebuttal in these arguments but I don’t really get it. Are men not also capable of misandry? When women do something bad to other women it’s called internalized misogyny. But somehow when men do something bad to other men it isn’t internalized misandry. What’s the distinction?

While simultaneously arguing that violence against men can’t be misandry because it’s mostly men doing it. Somehow a woman calling another woman a slut is internalized misogyny but men only sending men to war isn’t internalized misandry.

Feminism is simply chivalry with a modern coat of paint. The truth is that men sacrifice themselves to keep women safe and comfortable. In the past they had to rely on an individual man for that and repay him with sex, children, and housekeeping. Now they’re able to extract those benefits from men at large and don’t have to give anything in return. They’re given preferential treatment every step of the way from education to hiring opportunities and they can pull out their phone and get endless v…

Debate enough feminists and it becomes clear they don’t really examine their own positions critically. They don’t have to. Disagreeing with them is social suicide and they’ve taken over every space these conversations occur so they can just agree with each other back and forth to absurdity.

The only thing they’re consistent with is that women are victims and it’s men’s fault.

So men created society as a whole but not the justice system? And your whole argument is “it’s different”? I saw what you said and it’s nonsensical, self serving bullshit.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 07:03 PM

Funny how it’s “men created the system” when it’s something bad but men didn’t create anything when it’s good.

Personally I was told the exact opposite. That’s it ok to be weak, have emotions, ask for help, etc. The reactions of those around me, women especially, showed that was a lie. All the expectations around male strength and resilience are alive and well. And not going anywhere.

I think the men here would disagree that the existence of restrictive male gender roles means we live in a patriarchy. Does the existence of restrictive female gender roles mean we live in a matriarchy? In fact, I think this shifting of the rhetorical focus is exactly what this thread is talking about. Wherein the “patriarchy” means whatever is most convenient to paint men as the problem and women as victims.
/r/MensRights09/07/26 10:57 PM

Yes. Many perks come with being at the top. I was talking about the ones associated with male-female relationships like access to sex and relationships. Also, it’s generally not men who are railing against the patriarchy and talking about wanting to end it.
/r/MensRights09/07/26 09:14 PM
9

Oh absolutely. Most of us, myself included, either don’t have what it takes or aren’t ruthless enough to rise to the top. But the ones who do will by and large be men. And it’s true that those men at the top can frequently get away with things nobody else can. What’s ignored is that this is because women let them. As long as there are societal hierarchies and women reward the men at the top the “patriarchy” will remain. Maybe someday pointing this out won’t be one of the biggest taboos someone l…

The ugly truth that women don’t want us discussing is that they don’t really want to be leaders. Being a leader requires too much responsibility, too much effort. They want men to hold the position of power and to influence them from a position of safety, without any accountability. The problem is that their basic needs and wants have largely been met. But they keep grasping for more and it’s becoming more difficult to get every single contradictory whim met without stepping out of their comfort…

My life experiences told me that. But nice snarky deflection 👍🏻.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:39 PM

That probably true if we’re only talking about looks. The standards I find unreasonable are when they expect men to perfectly walk the tightrope of traditional masculine behavior and modern emotional availability. But only for her feelings, on her schedule, and on her terms. While considering it the height of misogyny if a guy expects a woman to fulfill any feminine gender roles beyond looking pretty, and even that might be too much.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:23 PM
3

Oh my god yes. Or that selecting so strongly for things like boldness and dominance or a complete inability to be affected by outside influences is naturally going to lead to them being in relationships with men more likely to be selfish or uncaring. If they don’t react with confusion it’ll be outright hostility.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/07/26 06:11 PM

It’s all part of a larger attitude wherein women’s wants and desires are treated as reasonable and necessary and men’s are treated as frivolous and selfish. Basically men are expected to serve women as they see fit while expecting anything from women is too much pressure.

One thing that makes me doubt the veracity of these claims is that what some women describe as sexual assault is incredibly similar to what other women expected me to do to them. Seriously, I have dated or hooked up with multiple women who expected me to just boldly and dominantly have my way with them without looking for a green light while they didn’t really show much obvious enthusiasm or even voiced a desire to take it slow. They got frustrated with me for being cautious and hesitant while t…

It’s also just not really a thing you can accurately count. What exactly constitutes a suicide attempt? How would they be reported to the authorities? If a guy picks up his gun and thinks about shooting himself ten times before he finally does it that doesn’t get counted. If a guy drives down a back road at 110 and closes his eyes that doesn’t get counted.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/07/26 03:55 PM

Oh I never said a guy can’t both be bold and an amazing partner. I just doubt you deserve such an amazing person.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 08:31 PM

So not giving you exactly what you want equals piece of shit? If you don’t do exactly what a guy wants does that make you a piece of shit?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 08:16 PM
7

That’s fine. Just don’t be surprised when selecting for the boldest and most dominant guys doesn’t get you someone who helps around the house or with the kids exactly how you like. Or if the guy who takes what he wants and never lets anything affect him isn’t as emotionally available as you want.

It’s an ideology built on never ending motte and baileys made possible by the general public’s tendency to protect and prioritize women’s concerns. They can make the wildest accusations and assumptions and fall back to “are you defending rape and violence against women?!” whenever they’re pressed.

Hell, a woman doesn’t even need to have personally experienced abuse. The very existence of male violence against women is enough for any woman to express misandrist views.

Years ago I came across this blog that does an excellent job of laying out the hypocrisy so prevalent with this issue. It has tons of well sourced information about the different types of genital mutilation for both genders and really goes in depth about people’s attitudes.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates07/06/26 06:59 AM

Exactly. Any man who has been married knows that the only thing women hate more than not being in control of everything is being responsible for everything. They want men to take the visible role of being the leader but they want to set the standards and conditions for success. That way they can get most of what they want without having to be on the hook if it all goes tits up.

It probably sounds dismissive but I do believe therapy is more helpful for women because their problems are in their heads. So many beautiful women with healthy and active romantic lives and careers are crippled with anxiety and insecurity. Talking it out probably does help. For a guy with none of those things, ruminating about it with a therapist sitting there going “mmhmm, and have you tried not letting it bother you?” isn’t as helpful.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates14/05/26 07:05 PM

Well in my experience it isn’t just feminists. It’s the mainstream, accepted opinion that women live their lives in mortal fear of men and we must atone for that, regardless of our own personal proclivities to violence.

I’m getting extremely tired with how women use violence against them as a cudgel to extract more concessions from men at large. Every single gender discussion boils down to violence against women. Every time. You can’t bring up anything without them firing back with “yeah well we get raped! So your concerns are inconsequential.” And of course you can’t point this out. Because now you’re excusing it. Doesn’t matter if it’s entirely irrelevant to the topic. Back them into a corner and they pull ou…

Women only look up and wonder why they aren’t up there. They never look down. They don’t understand that there will always be a group of men above them because they’re only willing to sleep with men they view as above them. They’ll never be able to join the men at the very top because women put them there.

Because you’re using a small percentage of men who are violent to paint an entire gender as the problem. Women are more likely to kill children than men are. Is it fair to say children are not safe around women in general?

The indisputable fact that men account for the vast majority of suicides, workplace deaths, and deaths of despair. To such a degree that men on average die five years younger than women. Despite this, there is no department of men’s health in the United States. There is of course multiple departments dedicated to women’s health.

I think there’s some truth here. As an aside, it’s really been something to see how the attitudes around eating pussy have changed in my lifetime. I’m 40 now, but when I was younger it was seen as kind of freaky. Definitely not something a really masculine guy would do unless he was a sexpot. Now it’s seemingly expected for everyone. But you better not expect a blowjob, you dirty dog. Which is wild because from my perspective, the only way eating pussy and sucking dick even approach being analog…

I did. Married her even. Turns out she has deep seated insecurities about housekeeping because her mom is a stereotypical 50’s housewife that never let anyone else clean. So even though she hates chores and never keeps up with them, she constantly feels bad about it and takes it out on me. Using me as an emotional punching bag to assuage her guilt over not doing the dishes when it’s her turn.

Because those jobs are difficult and hard on your body. That’s why women don’t want them. If a man doesn’t have a family to support and he can get by with an easier job, why wouldn’t he?

If we take an honest look at it, suicide attempts is probably an uncountable statistic. What even constitutes an attempt? A guy picks up a loaded gun, sets it on the table and thinks about ending it. Is that an attempt? Or does he have to put it to his head? Another guy gets his car up to 110 on a back road and closes his eyes for a couple seconds. Is that an attempt? Personally I think the constant mention of women “attempting more” is one of the most disgusting bad faith arguments made by femi…

Also many 18 year old men don’t feel like they have time for a four year degree to start making enough money to be seen as a viable man. So they take jobs in dirty, dangerous fields and twenty years later find themselves worn out and tired of being ground to dust by their jobs. But now they have a family, mortgage, other bills and they can’t afford the pay cut to change careers. So they self medicate and push down the pain, physical and mental, and just keep providing the only way they know how …

I was a trucker for ten years. I finally left the industry, taking a $13/hr pay cut, because I was tired of being treated like I was a piece of equipment. Management acts like you should be able to max out your hours of service with only ten hours off between shifts when it’s busy and then sit at home indefinitely when it’s slow.

The stark contrast on display when women talk about societal pressures is really something. When a woman faces social pressures it’s “you don’t understand! Women are forced to be X, Y, and Z by SOCIETY!!!” A man talks about facing social pressures and the response is “just don’t lol.” Yeah, everything is always way easier when someone else is doing it.
