I do not find Mari Kondo to be a person I am inclined to like. She is very arrogant and sure of herself. I also dislike her attitude of throwing away and not trying to reuse, sell, give away or gift away. She is a liberal/feminsit leaning person and does not tell you to honor other peoples belongings, especially not our husbands. A disrespectful/non-vigilant woman might not see anything bad in pressuring her Husband into sorting out his belongings or even do it herself! Just as bad is inviting s…

Beer does work. No matter the quality. DH rarely drinks a whole bottle and the rest is mine to use.

Thanks for your input, I took your suggestions and found some cookbooks in the library after the Appointment with LO´s Doc. Just the routine Appointments. LO is right on track weight/growth wise. The doc said hat cheese is alright as long as it is baked, so we will do a lot more oven recipes. I am happy to have found some yummy sounding recipes with root- vegetables. Edit: "And wait until toddlers portion has been taken out before you add pepper. " - will be the reason for papa´s plate being off…

I used to have the meal almost ready for serving. I generally wear clothes that look well - most of my clothes are favorite pieces of (D)H, so no quick changing on regular days. I aim for a well kept, cozy but not cluttered living space throughout the flat. So there is maximally a candle I add before he gets home. I always kept tea ready as well. When he got home I would greet him at the door, he would have collected the mail (our postwoman is coming around 15:00 for some reason). He took a nap …

If you feel comfortable you could work with different braids, buns or updos. I have seen many women mess up their eyes while in the gym, they all wore mascara. Be very careful.

That info makes a huge difference. People on the spectrum have a hell of a lot harder time to read people's expressions. Add makeup to it and it gets nearly impossible. I think he loves the look of a gentle makeup that does not make things harder for him. On you. The one he can read quite well. If you wore heavy makeup it would make reading you hard.

I owe up to the fact that the little, slow improvement in my DH does not yet register as true and lasting change, I need to see, hear and witness a whole lot more over a much longer period of time. Remorse is key.

When was the last time you and our BF did something that you both like together? Visited a place neither of you have been before, did something neither has done ? Relationships take work from BOTH sides. I am just unable to understand those that say they have crushes, behave hypergamy etc. To me this is a question of willpower and preseverance. I know these qualities are rare nowadays. I see hypergamy as an excuse for low power of will. Of a weak, easy to tempt mind.

DH comes from a social democratic Family. So left wing , blue collar workers. Always proud of being industrious and eager to work (physically) hard if necessary. I can not recall just how many times I gave DH baked goods to share among his workmates. Each and every time someone would ask if he bought it in store. He was all "No, my wife does the cooking and baking."

I mean what did he do when the electricity went off? He called the unemployment Agency and started hurling insults at his caseworker. He did not address me. . Okay, how did you approach him? Technically you're right. However, when a person is overwhelmed with too much weight to carry, they'll just shut down and become incapable of doing even a little bit of what needs to be done. It has been going on for nearly half a year. I also asked for advice 3 months ago and followed it as best as I could. . Why is your father and his parents coming to him about this instead of you? I have some advice stemming from my own experiences and some from my awesome midwife - Look for a midwife early on - Buy a good baby pillow (Second the notion that you should do it soon!) - Ginger Tea helps with nausea. Be upfront with your midwife/Gyn they might also know a few tricks - Let the nursery become your DH´s project. I was raised to value knowledge. To obtain it for myself and the benefit of others. IF a man is too insecure to accept I may be more knowledgable then him it is not my fault. Why do we women have to tone down? Why do we make ourselves weaker then we are? These are questions I ask myself more and more.

Many good points! MIL is unfortunately one of those women that do not accept their turning into the wise old crone aspect gracefully. That is putting it politely. It is common sense in my circles to leave strong smelly perfume off if visiting a new mother. Expecially if one wants to hold the baby. My Mother is the most well dressed person I know. She is also quite frugal, she does not spend outrageous amounts of money but invests in some good quality classics. I will continue my Doula training when my LO turns 3 month old. I can take him along for the seminaries - I did most of my practical work already. May I suggest becoming a Doula after your child is born? It can get you some money and you can easily do midwife training later on too. Do you really have less time for the marriage? Or does your Hisband have a problem with your job as such? Many men feel threatened by Counseling especially Marriage Counseling. We see it every day, those muslim boys are raised like kings while the girls are looked down upon and get harshly disciplined. I speak from experience as I teach in a school with a 20/80 quota, a hard thing to do. That makes for completely out of bounds, disrespectful boys who do not listen to female teachers at all and scoff at german male teachers as well. The girls are easy to handle if there was not the issue of frowning at those who dress less frumpy as them.

I used to work as a nurse for the elderly, a horribly underpaid job with the certainty of burnout/multiple bodily issues guaranteed, no one really wants to do (guess why?) I was raised to value money and I know I can get by even on that meagre income alone. Early on I learned the value of buying good quality - even secondhand or for a higher price rather then buy cheap stuff and replace it. Or if all else fails I make do with or without and improvise. We are now financially sound and able to kee…

Men who are able to appreciate other peoples work, especially that of their wives - are more likely to receive gratitude and respect in return. It is, unfortunately a common problem that women feel marginalized and unimportant as housewives. So taking housework as a real work and respecting it for what is might go a long way.

I think we are way too concerned about our kids, a good kindergarten and a part time job are certainly a good combo. Children from 3 years on need to interact with other children and yes - it is good for them to get to know difficult people as well.

A true SAHM nowadays is only possible if the wage is way in the "rich" strata. (Estimated 7500Euro monthly). Otherwise it is next to impossible. I am of the strong opinion and my SO shares it, that a child above the age 3 is able and actually benefits from going to the kindergarten/Kita. This gives me the opportunity to work at least part time.

. My husband’s parents took it a bit too far and forced him to eat food he hated that gave him ulcers. There’s some balance, but most Americans have swung too far to the other side. Finding Balance in anything seems to be a lost cause nowadays.

That reads like a drug induced vision. One thing that always frustrates me is the fact that my SO is a picky eater. He has no medical issues just does not want to eat cabbage in any form, complains if there is onion anywhere near his food, potatoes are "too plain unless it is a sweet potato" etc. I was raised way differently, I had to eat what was standing on the Table or lay in the fridge.

I get up an hour earlier on Saturday then in times past (5:00) and spent the hour meditating, reading or wandering around outside. When I come home my SO usually has the breakfast prepared and we eat together. (His way of thanking me for my support during the week and adhering to his erratic work schedule during the last months. Alternating shifts are the worst, especially as I try to be awake, pretty and with a hot meal waiting when he comes home no matter if night or day.).

I think it is a matter of priorities. Does everything need to be always spotless? Do you need every single piece of clothes everyday? Most likely no. Be selfish, the healthy kind, and ensure your wellbeing. Care for yourself, eat healthy, do your hobbies, work out and deal with your baggage. Addiction can cause horrible damage in children as the parent is not truly there. And kids need both father and mother.
