Oh man, thats just so unfair, sorry you are here. Have you been told to document and communicate each transgression with you Ex in a short, brief and non emotional way?* Because at this point with a restraining order against you, you need to allow the weight of evidence to build back in your favour. If you do this for a few months you will be able to show up to court with evidence on your side that simply can't be ignored. Keep all communication in writing - Ideally emails not texts - keep detai…

Mate you don't need to be having in depth conversations with her anymore. She's being a cow ... but you're letting her do it. You both still have a connection to one another and it's not helping either of you. The kindest thing you can do for both of you right now is to fully let her go. Sucks, I know.

This is so on point. The only thing I'd add is find a therapist. It will help you not just through the immediate pain, but also out the other side.

Ahhh ok. So to stay true to yourself you need to leave, but you vowed to stay no matter what. Hence the internal conflict. So i would suggest you talk to a therapist if you're not already - they'll help you deal with the strong emtions, and cinflicting beliefs that will be formenting away. From the little I know it sounds like you've really given this your very best shot, and an element of pride would not be misplaced.

Anyone have suggestions on how I can sort through my feelings 5 years back I would have said to talk to a therapist to get clarity for yourself, but with what I know now my advice would be to just talk to your wife. Tell her what you're thinking, and ask her what she's feeling. You need to know where she stands, and she needs to know where you are.

Brother there is a whole world waiting for you, but given your post history its no surprise your ex is leaning on you for support ... and its great you can give it. Start to say no a bit more, and focus on moving up your timetable for moving out .. or at least making sure it doesnt slip. Time is on your side, no real need to rush or force anything.

You are grieving the death of your relationships with your wife and your kids. In many ways its worse than actually dealing with a death because your wife is still there - and she could make all this go away if she choose to, but she has chosen not to. Of course you hate her. Of course you love her. And think - if this was a death you wouldnt expect the grief to just go away ... and nor should you in this case which is so similar to in many ways. What you can do is look after yourself and allow …

I think on average women check out some time before men are even aware of it. Its pretty hard to change an entrenched belief that has solidified over many years.

Seeing them as an adversary just binds you to them. The sooner you can let this feeling drop the sooner you can just get on with your life. Not saying its easy.

If it feels right for you then do it. Just be mindful where you're coming from. If you want to acknowledge that shes a good mum thats one thing. If your hoping to get back onside with her that another thing entirely. You can be collabotative and supportive of each other in your role of coparent.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
