Being told she wasn't romantically interested in me and that she wasn't attracted to me anymore was the worst thing anyone ever said to me. It hurts beyond belief. It's been 18 months and it hurts almost as much as when she first said it. Hang in there my friend and I hope your coping skills are better than mine. Venting on here and seeking professional help and support are also musts for me. I have to believe that that I will fully accept that she isn't coming back. I hope that you believe that…

You are not overreacting at all. Granted, there are two sides to every story, so I'm sure your wife and family have different perspectives on all of these events. It's clear however that you have been overwhelmed for quite a few years. You seem to be a good man and you'll come out on the other side. What's your issue though? Do you want validation for all that you've done? I damn sure would. I wonder if your very dysfunctional in- law family and more importantly, your wife are capable of that th…

Yes, thank you. I feel an enormous amount of guilt. I'm always the guy to point out racism in others. I'm just destroyed because I still love her and can't handle the fact that she has moved on.

In addition, not once did I say that I had any disdain for the entire black race.

Dude, it was all self reflection. If you say you didn't think about race at all after a break up, good for you. I'm sure there are white guys that didn't think about it either. I'm not as enlightened as you or they are. Admittedly, I grew up surrounded by racism (oddly enough in The Projects where I would get called "cracker" "white devil" or "honkey" among other things.) espoused by my drug-addicted father who used the n word constantly. I rejected being a racist though even as someone who was …

You know what, give me a break. You're telling me that there hasn't been a black man that has been married or dating a woman where the relationship ended and the woman started seeing a white guy. You think that wouldn't be the first or second thing they thought about? Does that make that guy a bad person or take away from everything else he does? Of course it doesn't. I have had a lot of kids over the years that looked up to me, just like my nieces and nephews do. All of them are black. I love t…

I'm not a racist. Oddly enough, she espoused racist stuff our entire marriage and I always called her out on it. BTW, fuck you for trying to be a troll while someone's in pain.

Why should I delete this and why do I need to find out WTF is wrong with me? I think I already addressed that.

Because I can't. We were together 28 years and my whole identity was tied to being married. I just can't stop the feelings that I have. I've thought about ending it all quite a bit. I don't have any plans to do anything but the thought is there.

I think because it makes me think she might have been with him sexually and the stereotypes about black guys probably makes me insecure as well. Our sex life really disapated the last couple years of our marriage because of my impotency due to drug abuse.

I don't know. I think it kicked up a lot of insecurities in me and some unresolved racist thoughts I didn't think I had. I posted because I'm struggling with this and I'm being honest about why.

I want to bring this up in therapy but my therapist is not white. I don't want her to think I'm a racist.

Why for being honest? Ahole. You probably feel the same way but are too timid to admit it.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
