That's a very idealistic way of approaching it. Where there are high value folks with no flaws and no urges outside of their direct interactions. In reality, people are more complicated than that. Otherwise, they have successfully got you to buy into to the version of themselves they are selling, and not revealing the entirety of who they are. Plus it sounds like you could be describing 80% of Reddit. Majority posts that include women have no shortage of thirsty guys. I wish this wasn't the case…

The reason why I put this on women, is because women have always been the gatekeepers of sex. Whereas, men's say usually comes in during commitment. Men are always going to be attracted to women's physical beauty. So if women are giving it away so freely, it's not men that should be trained to avert their gaze, although plenty of men do. The control should be taken back by women. And the way to do that is to fight against popular ideologies that go against this.

I agree. The problem is women don't police their own behaviors. They don't collectively shame other women for what older generations would have deemed degrading and look down upon it. Certainly men cannot, or else they'll be called sexist and in the way of female empowerment. It's within women at large to make a firm stand against this and say it isn't empowerment, it will only lead to more seeking attention, depression, validation in the wrong ways, and create a bad foundation for younger girls…

It wasn't always there. It was more of a naughty thing teenage boys did when they discovered someone older's secret stash or found a dirty mag in the woods somewhere. It was rare and mostly an anomaly once upon a time. But now it's an alternate solution if it becomes too much trouble dealing with dating. For men, it's part of a biological need. If they can suppress it, then they are more motivated to search out a relationship in order to have that need fulfilled. But if that path is frustrating …

Many men no longer feel the incentive to do that anymore. For instance, when the pool of women are also shrinking with the obesity rates going up, Feminism taken hold in most universities, plus the overwhelming cons attached to marriage (including most divorces initiated by women) it's leaving men with the feeling that to live a content life no longer means clawing their way to a top level paying job, when a decent level will be more than enough for them to pay for their hobbies, get a big enoug…

That's an accurate way of looking at it. Ultimately it's all connected in some fashion, but I just wanted to reiterate that tired ol' complaint is often misconstrued. It's much more complex than that, and you punctuated it succinctly.

This is a misconception that gets uttered way too often. This has nothing to do with men and need to remove all this talk of Patriarchy. The confusion in that regards is that it may be encouraged in a "professional" setting to "look your best," but for the average and majority of men, they don't care much about it at all. If you asked them, they'll say they prefer no makeup. And yes, that also means when you look "tired" or "sick" or whatever. Men value being genuine a lot more, but they won't a…

What you should take away from this: Wear the moderate amount that you are currently wearing for appropriate occasions, but keep it much more natural when it's a more causal setting. Especially if it's just the two of you.

Perhaps I can caveat it with, most people should listen/watch reviews of folks they trust AND try and avoid as much spoilers as possible. Some reviewers give away too much. Maybe just watch part of the first trailer and decide if it's worth it. If it looks good, stop it there and go watch it when it releases and make your own judgment. If it looks bad from the first 30 secs of the trailer than keep watching to see if it looks any better by the end. If not, then you can see if the reviewers you t…

I would suggest to only listen to the reviews of the folks you trust, who have similar tastes and thinking as you. Add that to the impression you got from the trailer(s), and then decide if it's worth watching in the theater, or just waiting it out until it's released in VOD/Bluray/Etc.

It's not gendered? Since when? It's always been gendered throughout history. Also man in this case isn't like "mankind", it actually comes with inclusions of masculinity.

No. You miss the point again. Man up used to mean so much more than just "suck it up." It meant be a man = be better. Means step up your game. Work harder, etc etc. Perhaps the problem was when it was being used and the context in which it was being used. It's perfectly fine to cry when you fall and hurt yourself, but then you can't just keep crying all day. You have to "Man Up" eventually. You get back up and try again. Manning up in that instance also means not quitting just because you fell a…

JazzTheGoose123 is absolutely right. In many ways, men do have to "man up." But it's being used in a derogation way. Men have to man up in the same way, men have to get up when they get knocked down. It's part of what lead to great achievements throughout history. And bottling it up is subjective from person to person. Let's be perfectly honest, not everyone likes to blab about their feelings, especially to a stranger. And maybe some things men have to know they can only deal with themselves bec…

I find human behavior incredibly fascinating. Take humans throughout history all over the world, when they get confronted with a deadly weapon that could go off any second based on what they do at that moment would go into panic. Most humans would see their lives flash before their eyes and freeze in fear following every direction they are given. The very fact that she exhibited none of that speaks volumes. You have to wonder what kinds of mammals or creatures in the wild would ever not show any…

Yeah. I see where you're coming from. I'm getting less and less bothered by it. I mean, I kinda wanted to play a real World War II game... made with the same standard we've gotten used to. Ultimately, this annoyance will pass, and most people will forget about it. The gameplay will be what determines if it has longevity and success. I guess, I just don't see DICE revisiting this particular time period again for a long long while. So in that sense, I was kinda hoping for as much of the authentic …

Not being 100% realistic and taking some liberties =/= going all out fantasy. Yes, you're right. They were never a 100% exact when it came to all sorts of things, but the key was they were close enough. And that's all they had to be. BF1 has women in the game, and all is well b/c it was in the context of the time period. If BFV includes female French Resistance fighters or female Russian Snipers, then all will be well again. Battlefield might have guns that weren't exactly like they were in real…

Your first issue was that there were women in the game. This right there tells me you never actually got any of what I was talking about. It was never about women in the game. Women were in the last game (BF1.) Women are in plenty of games out right now. So at this point I don't know what you're upset about. Man, I really don't know what to tell you. I can only explain it in so many ways. If you don't get it by now. I'm not sure if you'll ever get it. I'm gonna try one last time... (1.) It's not…

I'm seeing we're just going around in circles here. Why do you keep saying the same things over and over? I feel like I'm still talking to the Pake1000 from the very start of this discussion. Myth #1: Battlefield was never about accuracy. Response: It was close enough. Most gamers are okay if they make the attempt and it's believable. Myth #2: People are just crying about female characters in games. Response: BF1 had female soldiers, no one complained. Plenty of games right now have female chara…

They can make it a shooter for any time period they want. It doesn't have to be historically accurate, especially since the previous games were not. Of course. They can make whatever they want. They are a private company, but there was not one single clue prior to the release trailer that they were going to make an alternate version of WWII. So just about everyone expected a normal take on it. Even today, people in the BF subs are asking whether they'll still have the D-Day campaign, or the othe…

Flexibility everyone's fine with (eg. Black soldiers/Russian Female snipers in BF1 because they existed even if not prominent.) British female combat soldiers with pirate arms and samurai swords in a WWII game is not flexible. It's contortion at the levels that would make Chinese gymnasts' heads spin.

IT'S A GAME. IT'S ALL ABOUT GAMEPLAY. No shit. They are choosing to add female models to make it fun for others. Than make it a modern shooter. Problem solved. After the first time DICE saw a person reenter a plane in flight, they could have easily fixed. They didn't. They chose enjoyment over realism to make players happier. That's besides the point you brought up initially. You pointed out the unrealism of doing it, but I told you that DICE didn't have that as their intention. Their intention …

And to your point, there isn't a problem if and when they do include the French Resistance and the Soviet Union, it would be perfectly fine to include the women soldiers in context. That's not the debate. You keep using the "crazy gameplay" to argue the out-of-place elements. I don't know how many times it can be said. It's not about the gameplay. No one is even remotely talking about how the game is played, it's about how the game looks. Basic argument: You make the game look believable, and le…

But why care when you don't even get to see what your character looks like while playing? And when did it ever matter to look like the character? Do you have to look like the character when you play in a zombie game or Mario Bros or Sonic or Pokemon, etc? This is a dumb argument because never in all my years of playing games did I ever think "this game is terrible b/c this character doesn't look like me." And you're right. And having women characters will not strip a person from being immersed in a believable environment. Except in no old war footage was there any imagery of women in the front lines. And what people think of when they think WWII is something like Band Of Brothers. It's not a knock at women. They should be remembered for stepping up when all the men were shipped off to fight the war. They jumped on the assembly lines to provide support for the war, they held down their home countries so they functi…

I've already addressed this topic in many other replies here. I'll say this. Let's say your point of view is law. And that's how it's going to be. Then where do we draw the line? I'm asking honestly. So from here on out we should expect to not follow any sort of rules? Meaning if they say they're making a Vietnam War game, we should not automatically assume it's going to take place in Vietnam or have Americans fighting Viet Cong? So it's perfectly okay to have a Vietnam War game to have players …

I'm having to say this over and over. It's never about women in games. Most games out today have female playable characters. If people had a problem with women in games, they would have spoken up much earlier. It's about wanting to a WWII game that resembles WWII. I'm not really sure how more simple I can put that. If they want a alternate version, they can play COD or Wolfenstein. And about the erasing men's sacrifices stuff. Do you know what people started doing immediately when it was announc…

It's never about what you do than what the world looks like. We all accepted from the very beginning that this was more like an arcade shooter combined with realistic elements. What you're talking about is a military simulator. Immersion is about selling the idea that the player is actually in a believable environment. What they can do in that world is only limited by their imagination. People asked for WWII, they didn't ask for an alternate universe version of WWII. And they don't expect a mil-…

Exactly. Which is why one side keeps saying... "all they had to do was make a Bad Company 3 game or a modern shooter and include all the men/women/whatever and we'd all go with it. But don't sell us WWII with sci-fi characters. And certainly don't spring it on everyone not expecting it."
/r/MensRights15/07/18 04:52 AM

How is that shit? You're equating the idea of doing crazy stunts to fantasy elements in a game. No one in the history of the franchise or gaming in general ever cared or complained that people could do epic things in a game. They just want the immersion to feel like the world they're in makes sense to the context. I'm sure there's a simpler way to explain it, but if you can't get that, then I don't know what to tell you.

Realistic gameplay mechanics =/= realistic world setting. The argument isn't about what you're doing is realistic or not, but that the jet, rocket launcher, and soldier you do it with is.
/r/MensRights14/07/18 07:14 AM
3

You're right. Fixed* the wording, but the point is still the same. When the foundations of the world they create feels real, they can tinker with small changes here and there because it won't break immersion. But having Samurai swords in a WWII game goes against what people were expecting.

Just because a segment of Redditors couldn't be bothered with sports, doesn't mean it's not happening. Yes, those things you mention are not 100% accurate, but the overall feel of those games were. And that's the point. That's DICE's little way out. They included high tech in the final DLC of BF4, but even the craziest of weapons/gadgets/etc that they included in the game were actually out there. Experimental, sure, but they still existed or the tech existed on some level. Even if it wasn't quite polished yet. In that same sense, even if the weapons were very rarely used or might have made just one of it, that was good enough for DICE. The point there I'm assuming is to make a boring low tech shooter more fast …

Why make it a WWII game then? You want to play as a woman, I want to play as a woman, and other people want to play as a woman. Great! So make it a modern shooter, or tell the community they are doing an alternate universe version and they're going to go all out with it. Done. Problem solved. But why try to sell a WWII game and change how WWII was? Why did it have to be WWII? Why not make it the Iraq War or make it WWIII. Again... it's never about women in games. Except they are. Here's the thing. When the current game out was BF4, most of the Battlefield community was begging for a WW game. So many wanted to play an authentic WW experience, hopefully WWII as they saw it in documentaries and such, but done in the great Frostbite Engine and with an acclaimed dev team like DICE. They knew that DICE was going to bring their own level of excellence that you wouldn't get in COD or Counter Strike or even military simulators. They got BF1 a WWI game that was ve…

The point was that the guy responding to the tweet got the impression from what he's seen/heard around him to put in the qualifier of "straight men."
/r/MensRights16/10/17 08:18 PM

That's not what TV would have everyone believe. They used to have shows with gay characters making comments about women's dress (Will & Grace,) reality shows where gay men judged women on their outfits (Project Runway,) and would even dress women who didn't know how to dress (What Not To Wear/ Queer Eye For The Straight Girl.) It's obviously just a drop in the ocean, but it still sticks in your brain.

It didn't even don on her that maybe guys would like more options or that men might have equal stigma put on them if they strayed too far from that limited option they have. Don't take my reply as an overt slight towards what you wrote. I was piggy-backing on it to clarify the overall discussion on said movie. I have a feeling sentiments about this movie will level out after the honeymoon period is over. During this period people have their rose tinted glasses on and will downvote most comments that criticize it. After the bluray is released, then we'll see more evened reviews and more variety in opinions. Right now it's being spoken about as one of the best superhero movies made so far. The same was said about The Force Awakens the best SW film out so far, but that opinion has evened out also. My gue…

Just so you know, the whole "opening weekend" bit has been praised on Reddit countless times. "It broke records!" "Wonder Woman is a rousing success!" Except what they never admit is it still did the worst out of the other recent DC movies. As bad as each of them have been, they still did better than WW in the opening weekend. What WW did do is it just recently surpassed Man Of Steel in it's domestic take. And even then it has been described as "WW Soars Past MoS." That's a nice way of saying it…

If women were smart they would wholeheartedly embrace the men's rights movement, because at the end of the day we're rather benign and equal rights would ultimately help women as well (shared parenting for example). Not sure if they realize it, but by dragging men down in order to lift women up they are going to ultimately hurt themselves too. Just as rising tides lift all boats, so does low tides beach all boats. You think they are complaining now about "not finding a good man" or the happiness…

I think the confusion here is that one term is used for male and male/female, and another term exists just for female. So what if you wanted to search just for male actor, which term would you use? I'm curious... would you have clocked her or a girl half your size if she threw a drink in your face? And when I say clock, I mean exactly as hard as this guy did. Would you have cocked your arm back and swung as hard as you can at someone much smaller than you?
/r/PussyPassDenied09/03/17 07:32 AM
1

Okay, now picture a 100 pound girl going up to a rich Wall Street banker who's 180 lbs and threw a drink in his face. It's a good bet that he wouldn't have responded that way. That's an apples to apples comparison. You and I or you and some other guy from a fortune 500 company isn't a like for like comparison with this video.
/r/PussyPassDenied09/03/17 07:30 AM
1

So wouldn't the response be to try not to encourage the behavior? Why is clocking a much smaller (albeit annoying) girl in the face a good thing? Since when does having class and promoting good sense a bad thing now? Most people here are cheering the idea of sinking down to the gutter as the proper way of dealing with situations.

A drink in the face is measly and something that can be walked off, but a full on blow to the face often can't. This isn't the wild west where we shoot people for looking at your horse wrong. Can't have this kind of thing if we're trying to be the country that goes to Mars and cultivating a functioning society.

While I 100% agree with you, it's also not a good thing that there are humans acting like "gorillas" or having to tread lightly in our day to day lives because we walk amongst other humans who behave like "gorillas." She was about as dumb as dumb could be for what she did, but it's also horrible what he did. Imagine what a person like that would do after being cut off on the road or cut in line at a movie theater and you spoke up? Her behavior was foolish, but his was undeniable dangerous.
/r/PussyPassDenied07/03/17 10:00 PM

It's not just that she did what she did and he retaliated, but the manner in which he did it speaks volumes. It's not the kind of thing someone who'll be in a fortune 500 company or a successful productive member of society does. It's the kind of behavior that will lead him to life in prison after his 3rd felony charge. As much as the entitlement of people has to decrease, so does the kind of behavior that guy displayed. Both don't belong in an advancing functional society.

X being true, doesn't necessarily equate to Y. What humans find arousing or what they fap to doesn't necessarily translate to anything about their day to day behavior or lifestyle. Someone could be into incest porn or milf porn, doesn't mean they want to bang their own mom.

Has a lot to do with frequency. Men think about sex a lot more than women. For men releasing their seed is just as much a biological function as eating or pissing or breathing. Men want it a lot more, so it's seen as an annoying thing at times from women. Because of it men are thought of as pervs, or creepy, or too horny all the time. All of that has negative connotations. Disagree. It's all in how you carry yourself. The abused boyfriend the entire time was slouched in his seat, and pretty much spineless. If you carried yourself as if you aren't going to take anyone's shit, then magically you will reduce the amount of drama in your life. How you conduct yourself shows by example how others can and cannot behave around you. When someone breaks that covenant, you have to nip it in the bud, or else people walk all over you.

True, but you're assuming people (young or old) won't be able to comprehend a healthy physique unless we're told what one looks like. This is an oldie, but goodie. Interesting side note, this is one of the criticisms of having female soldiers in combat situations. Even female soldiers admitted that, having a woman in their squads would put the mission in jeopardy. They found that the male soldiers would go out of their way to protect the female soldier, so much so that they put her safety above the mission. This also brought additional harm to the soldier and his squad.

In my haste to avoid all spoilers, I missed all the signs pointing to a politically correct, please everybody, safe movie. It's not very original. Most of the movie is fan service, and rehashing older plot points. It's mostly riding on the coattails of the OT and appealing to anyone that may have been left out from the other movies.

No. It should not be illegal (in that case you listed.) It should be prohibited by the school systems. They should not have to go to jail, but rather get fired and possibly have that put on their employment records (this part can be debated.) Either way, it should be the business or organization that deals with these matters, not the courts. Unless they are under (say) 15 years old, and/or make a complaint they were abused.

First of all, that would most likely go against rule number one of every prison in the country. I doubt any prison in the land will let their guards have sex with the prisoners. For so many reasons, this is prohibited. Secondly, you're conflating the idea of two consenting mature people into scenarios where it may not be professionally or morally acceptable. Then you'll have to use common sense and follow the rule of that organization. Some office jobs forbid (grown adults) employee fraternizati…

Firstly, why is it vague? It is used for many other serious situations like murder, mental instability, & other high crimes. So if they are already deemed credible by the State and Federal Govt, then why not here? Secondly, we're not just talking girls. As we see weekly, there are boys involved too. And by…

Since most of the world, including each state in America, disagrees on the actual age of consent, perhaps that range (16-18yo) should be judged case by case, and any minors 15 or younger be treated as per existing laws. So if the "victim" in question is between the ages of 16 & 18, then a psyche evaluation should be conducted to determine whether that individual has the mental maturity to understand the ramifications of sexual intercourse. And since most people vary in maturity and mental aptitu…

At what age would you say you still thought a tank was an appropriate vehicle for every day travel? That could be a very vital factor to this topic. We can't really make blanketed statements about every person, when we know some folks are slower than others... maturing that is. One sixteen year old could be awkward and below average mentally, while another could be bright, mature, and socially ahead of most 18 year olds. So blanketed statements don't work when people vary so much from individual…

What happened to pleading "No Contest?" It essentially works as an inbetween of guilty and not guilty. It lets you proceed with your sentencing as if you pleaded guilty, but none of the repercussions afterwards of that plea. Meaning it doesn't get used in future trials or cases as a guilty plea.

I'd describe everything that is happening with women today as similar to how countries transition from 2nd world to 1st world. Just as the industrial revolution brought the western world into a tier 1, so has the women's movement of the 60's lead to the state of affairs today. Women today make up greater percentage of the work force. They have much larger purchasing power, and they are acting much more liberated. What they are doing is somewhat similar to how men did after the industrial revolut…

The difference is, when it's said to other men, they reciprocate in kind or they understand it as hollow threats and move on. Whereas with many women online, they receive the same kind of threats…

I'm not arguing with you. I am well aware of the discrepancy between the two on reproductive rights, but what we have here is a case of apples & oranges. I don't think she's talking about reproductive in that way. We all know that men get the short end of the stick when it comes to having any say. Yet the Porn Actress is not the ideal either. We've had multiple posts and articles on the issue of women with higher sexual partner count correlates with high divorce rates. Meaning, when a post is created with a clear position taken on a subject, then the bulk of the comments will be from those who support said position. It's the same with /r/movies or any other sub. You can make a post on why you hated movie A and the threads within will be majority anti that movie. Turn around and create another post praising the same movie (A,) and the results will be reflecte…

Society SAYS men are less valuable than women. I disagree. I agree with your disagreement. If anything, you could kill off half the population of women and most civilizations would continue to function. The same can not be said if you did the same of men.

The sad truth about all this is -- most men's ultimate goal is to settle down and start a family. The "best buds," "boys will be boys" days are (usually) limited to the bachelor years. Society has groomed into all of us that to be complete you have to get a stable job, then find a mate, then have children, then prepare for retirement, and share your wisdom to perpetuate this cycle with your grandchildren. Most Blue Pill men will follow this path, even though they know something is missing in the…

But there is no denying that ObamaCare (and RomneyCare etc.) subsidizes women at the expense of men. I don't think that will change anytime soon. Women will always be the "protected" gender. The only way that changes is if they sabotage that themselves.

Don't be fooled. ObamaCare is RomneyCare (and a buffed up version of DoleCare.) And after much backlash from the insurance companies and Republican outcry of socialism, they had to pull back from the Public Option and adopt a previous Republican plan (with some additions.) So before we say "thanks Obama," realize that politicians are politicians. It's better to not fall into one side over another. Pay attention to their actions and not their rhetoric.

Here's the thing. It ultimately comes down to who you really are. We are going to find out or have suspicions about it one way or another. Whether you have sex on the first date or hold off for a distinct period of time, is just one part of the equation. The other part is what your sexual and relationship history is. One input is useless without the other.

Sounds like you're still in that idealism stage. Which is a good thing, but you have to be even more observant and aware. I get the impression you're not into casual sex. That means you have to be smart about who you choose to date. Look for the signs. Read between the lines. Ask questions that lets you learn multiple things about them. Then proceed with caution. Sounds like common sense, but it's not as common as one would think.

I think I understand what you're getting at and the overall logic as to why the laws are as such. I'd just like to interject that by case by case I mean the courts would employ an unbiased and qualified psychologist to examine the victim. Then determine if he or she is mature enough. Would be a good idea to do the same with the alleged perpetrator. This would also determine if the victim does in fact need to be protected. Also, going from 17 to 18 doesn't automatically make them mature. Hence, t…

We're not talking about 4 year olds. Many nations in the world figured 16yo was old enough to drink or drive or fight wars. 17 is possible for a person to understand the ramifications of sex. Once again I've got to interject that these situations have to be judged case by case. It should be based on the individual's (victim) maturity. When in high school I knew 17 year olds who could grow a beard and had multiple girlfriends, at the same time, there also were 17yos who couldn't grow a pube and broke down in the presence of a woman or girl. The problem with laws like this is that it basically sets an arbitrary rule blanketed on everyone. Forgetting that some people mature faster than …

I don't think I'd blame Feminism for this one. I think it's is more or less a White Knight problem. The laws were created long ago (before the 60's) because it was the only way to even out the risks women took during those days. During that period, women held no position of power, they weren't the breadwinners, and their only position in society was caretakers. So in order to balance some of the power they were lacking, they did so through the courts. Fast forward to present day women are in the…

Life has taught me that looking for so much more is going to either be a chore or you're going to be waiting for quite a while. I've also learned that women are different from country to country. TRP is the harsh truth that people don't want to admit is true. Most moderate MRAs and non MRAs want to bash TRP, but all of it comes down to human psychology, biology, and years of evolutionary behaviors in grained in us. Generally, speaking of course.

All good advice here. Read and take heed. I'll just add since you hinted that you're still fairly young, to consider whether or not you are interested in women. If you still desire sex and get those urges, then you should take what TRP teaches and apply them. Because it works. Once you've had the opportunity to utilize the RP techniques with your growth and sex life, then when you reach late 20s or 30s you can decide whether you want to continue, settle down, or GYOW.

I don't think girls on GW are necessarily easy to fuck. I'm sure there are some on there that are, but being an exhibitionist goes much deeper. You'd have to break down the desire of a woman to want to "show off" her goods. For instance, if they have pretty pussies, they'll want to show it off. NAWALT, but if they know their snatch is not as nice as some of the others, then they'll definitely be self conscience of it. Same goes for breasts and their entire body. It comes down to validation. Oh, that! Seriously, how often does that actually happen? Certainly next to never in America. Doesn't fit the AWALT mentality. What would they get out of a prank like that? I've heard of toning things down, then ratcheting up the make-up, LBD, & heels to turn on their charms, but the "I'll walk around and let everyone think I'm ugly" is a new one to me.

People are stupid with this shit, if I was talking to a girl that I thought she was ugly I wouldn't give her much attention. If I found out she was actually hot I would try to fuck her. a.) Guys don't (generally) change their minds because of the gals' status change. b.) Guys can grow to like someone, as long as they were somewhat physically attractive to begin with. I think Lucy Liu falls in that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" category. Ask your Asian friends and most of them probably won't find her appealing. I think it has to do with her having extreme ethnic features. It's something they are used to, whereas, non Asians see it as more exotic and thus appealing. Personally, 3-4/10 is way too low in my own personal opinion. I find her very attractive. In the 7-8 range.

It’s sickening to realize that in order for this guy to have the woman get arrested, he had to have been videotaping it, instead of getting her the hell off of him. I don't think you understood what I said. What I meant was "if it was just you two (no kids involved,) THEN I'd say... yada yada yada." But since that's not the case, "I feel for you." I completely agree with you on being there for your kids. No one in their right mind would say otherwise. I know the situation you're in is not how you intended, hence "the pickle," but I'm sure you'll get through it. If not for your own sanity, for those little rug rats that call you "daddy." Goodluck!

I completely understand the concerns and frustrations being male, but in this case, this lady has no evidence to back up her claim and there are mountains of evidence on the gentleman's side. I know hind sight is 20/20, but he could have just said, "you know what else besides rape is bad... false rape accusations. Good thing there are so many people around, huh?"

Race & gender are two very separate issues. And if you break it down further, there are circumstances where there ought not be discrimination based on gender. The point here is that all males of every race share commonalities with each other as all females with their sistren, but there are distinct differences between the genders that play a part in providing exclusions for each to have their own space.

First of all everyone is welcome here. Greetings! MGTOW is not extreme. It's just their (our) right to partake or not. Many have decided to stay independent and prefer being on their own. Nothing wrong with that. I appreciate "me time" more the older I get. MGTOW ≠ Anti-women. 99.99999% of MGTOW have nothing against couples or the idea of relationships, they just have made a personal decision to not participate in that way.

This is how feminism view their point of view, but it's not the whole story. "Equal" doesn't always mean equal. For example, wanting to have the same take home pay as men (in general,) but with less time worked and in field-of-studies much lower on the rung. Also, happens in Wimbledon.

You fight them by becoming blind to gender, and expecting equality of everyone. Sometimes each gender provides something unique from the other. Sometimes the difference between genders is a good thing and should be celebrated. We have much in common, but we also have aspects that differentiate from the other. These don't make either side weaker or lesser, but more of an asset by bringing different tools to the table. There seems to be a wave of influence sweeping the western world trying to elim…

You're right that if there isn't also a space for men, then that is wrong. If women are provided a "safe" space, then men should have one as well. I wonder if the men at OP's university wanted their own space, would that be a problem?

I think, the solution here is common sense. Are all our bathrooms unisex? Of course not. Separating for gender is not the same as separating for race. Plus, I share your concern that we don't want to start separating in every venue/building/organization based on gender, but that is not what I'm proposing. And I definitely am drawing a line. The line can be and should be determined by using common sense. Only provide separate areas as long as the general area is communal, equal accommodations for…

The WSJ is far from perfect, but it was one of the best American papers in my estimation. Since Murdoch took it over, the WSJ has declined in it's quality some. There are still some good journalism, financial news, and OpEd's to be enjoyed from it's pages, but there is an air of bias and corruption that has swept into it's halls that is synonymous with News Corp.
/r/MensRights29/05/13 12:14 AM
2

I disagree. Gender and race are not the same. And they have various levels of differences that are exclusive to each. We separate for gender when using bathrooms and not for color of skin for obvious reasons. So it goes to show that there are also other gender issues that are not in the wheel house of races. Should we mix both sexes in every single place? No exceptions? Or can we appreciate that sometimes men/women just want to have some space of their own?
/r/MensRights28/05/13 11:57 PM
2

This will piss off a lot of people and go against the grain here, but I'm all for separate spaces. There should definitely be unisex in general areas, but why shouldn't there be spaces for just men or just women? I find problems with them only if they are the only types of accommodations around or if there is gross disparities between the two. However, sometimes men just want to be away from the opposite sex as women want to be with just their sisteren. Why not provide that space? If everyone wo…

It's a fascinating thing that two similar societies can have opposite problems. You may be disappointed in your "left wing politics," but I wonder if you would trade that to have crazy "right wing politics?" The truth proof shall set you free. Contacting the police ahead of time would work greatly to his benefit. He can let the police department know that he has traveled far to see his biological son and explain his situation. Instead of arresting him on the grandparent's property, they can give him advice on how to expedite his visitation/custody. What's sad and ironic (if that's even the correct term here) is the position Feminists hold here is more in line with the old world masculine mindframe that they swear up and down they are against. Communication works, except when the woman is in the mood for sex and not in the mood to talk. There are some who were in the first category (to whatever degree) and wanted something more without playing the "game," who found themselves frustrated with what they experienced and decided to become one of the MGTOW.

What you read are experiences of those who commented. I think common sense decrees that no one here is speaking for the entire gender. Most of us here can only speak to our own personal experiences. The truly "sad" part is that so many of us have these same horrible experiences. There is a terrible pattern here and for these same folks, there is a noticeable change occurring in the environment of dating. It has become more frequent to experiences these behaviors from this side of the isle. I'm s…

If women don't like it, then they should lobby to change the laws. One can't highlight this statement enough. The importance of addressing the illness and not just the symptom. Women are finding it hard to secure mentors for the same reason. There's a definite climate of fear in many work environments. Also the sensitive work environment that male teachers have to cope with.

The way I see it is, that woman is part of a long legacy of demur, submissive women at the tail end of male dominated abuse. We've reached a point in human history where the pendulum is shifting. It's become one of the most repulsive acts (man abusing a woman in any capacity) that any form of retaliation or even preemptive action garners celebration. I wonder if these women realize that they are making things worse for themselves in the long run. And that using the same abhorrent tactic to retal…

Thank you for seeing this as a "human" rights issue and not the betterment of one gender above another. One gender doesn't have to fail in order for the other to succeed.

I'll just come right out and say it - this isn't a knock at men's intelligence, but a blatant attack on women's. This plays to what they see as the insecurities & emotions of women to make them feel like they are actually superior to their male counterparts. It reinforces the idea that women know how to run a household better than men, who are no more capable then their toddler or pet. It is done to bolster confidence. Confidence = sales. This is the advertisers fibbing on the first date to all …

What's so great about getting married anyways? It's the stigma from the older generations, I tells ya! It would be a hell of a lot simpler by not getting married and just make the personal vow to one another. Also the laws should be amended to reflect that.

This has opened my eyes significantly. I didn't think this was even possible? Perhaps the first few times dates should be inexpensive (eg. walk in the park, coffee & scones, trip to the zoo/museum/gallery on open-to-public-day, etc.) And if there is chemistry & potential, then more elaborate outings.

Yet another score for FAPPING. Sex is amazing, but also highly over-rated at times and almost always full of baggage. Sometimes, it's really not worth the added drama & worry over things that are out of your control. It's very difficult to gauge whether someone you've come to trust will change their minds on you the last minute, altering the rest of your life as you know it. I hope the day comes when adolescent boys are offered a yearly (voluntary) shot, not unlike the female HPV vaccine, which …

If this is grounds for sterilization, then there'd be a shit ton of women who'd have to go under that operation. I've talked to a quite a few women who think their biological clock supersedes the male's say in it.

Men (in general) don't think this way. This isn't a concern to "most" women because the male thinking is far from this. There are definitely men who want to be daddies more than anything, but it is very rare for any of them to go to that extreme. Now if, on the off chance, that a male did such a dastardly deed; then it's a good indicator that he's got more serious issues lurking.

Actually, I think chicks were pretty reasonable. They chicks conclude that "the guy should not have to pay child support if he was raped. He should have to pay if he wasn't raped" Actually only 1 in those 5 girls agreed he should not pay because he said he was raped. The other 4 couldn't fathom his rape even being plausible. They question how he could have been raped. The fact that men are stronger than women, and that the woman he was allegedly raped by someone she was in a relationship with ar…

I wonder if dating sites ought to disable sending out messages for males and put that burden on the female members only? Goes without saying that replying to messages should be enabled, but if the responsibility was laid on the doorstep of women, then maybe there would be less of an "entitled" feeling garnered from the pick of the litter of her flooded inbox. Taking away the luxury of being lazy and sought after, she would be put in the position to engage those she is interested in talking to, w…

Yeah I get that, and my personal opinion is that's the horrible direction to take society. "The current situation" = a dull, stuck-up feminist utopia. That very notion discourages male/female interaction with very little wiggle room to be playful. Something out of a bad sexual harassment seminar video. Instead of being more sensitive about flirtatious behaviors and scoffing at how people interact with one another, we could save our anger for situations when someone has truly been harassed and se…

Many origins of passionate arguments contrive from being scorned by related experiences (not saying that's the case here. How do you know?) Can't injustice be retorted by valid observations and thoughtful dialogue? Why does one have to be chastised for it?

What it seems like is, OP is suggesting that since women, of late, have taken a very hard line with sexual harassment so should men? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think both sides need to dial it back a notch. We can create a society of people with sticks up their ass or we can not assume the worst from others at the slightest of gestures. Choose your battles wisely.

I particularly chortled at the ending... Sitting on the stoop getting their hair braided by other girls. Long t-shirts that go down to the kneecaps and look like skirts. Colorful clothes. Obsession with fashion, shopping, shoes and accessorizing. Love of jewelry. Grooming obsessions that would put metrosexuals to shame. The more you think about it, the more you’ll notice and come up with your own examples.
