Thing is , I don't wanna come off as guilty of doing some pedo shit when I bring it up in front of my friends .

It has already turned into a kind of inside joke but I'll try to shut it down by doing what you and other members have said .

The main thing that I'm worried about is people outside the friend circle knowing me by that name or as a predator or pedo or something . That is really a bad reputation to have , especially if I didn't even do anything of that sort .

I have a similar situation , anytime I'm arguing with someone in front of other people or someone insults/embarrasses me in front of others , I get teary eyes and it's just hard for me to speak anything without letting the tears roll down . I can stay calm and stoic when I'm listening to what the other person is saying but as soon as I open my mouth to speak , I can't stop the tears . How do I deal with this and be able to speak and convey without getting watery eyes ?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
