Wow! That article is one of the most vivid descriptions of a sexual assault I have ever read. Quite distressing. Grown men rarely cry from fear. The tears he shed were from feeling hopeless, powerless and the sheer unfairness of the situation. He was right to cry too, it is unfair. I actually work for a company that does this. There are checks to see if the system is being abused but largely I just take sick leave when I need it and there is no limit. A side effect of the system is that staff that would treat sick leave as "use it or lose it" are no longer motivated to take an unnecessary sick day. Overall, less sick days end up being taken.
