I'm not sure if you're asking about Felix and my Bf's mother or the girl's mother. Felix's mom (and her husband) love their granddaughter, but she's been in and out of the hospital this year and it's not an ideal situation. I don't know anything about the child's other grandmother, but I can ask the bf when he gets home. The GF doesn't use drugs, never has. (That's one of the things she likes to screech about and hold over Felix's head.) It wouldn't be unrealistic to wait for her to get caught s…

I think my roommate said it best. "If no one wanted it, it wouldn't be illegal."

I myself have been through the abuse/DV type things as a child, there is zero support for men here.

The town is overrun with cases like this, if he stays there's little to no chance that he'd be able to provide for her. I'm not being dramatic when I say this, people in that town will slander your name and cause drama to get you fired and pick up some of your hours.

I've noticed this too, and it was extremely alien to me at first. My parents are incredibly chill people that made sure I knew everything that public school sex ed glazed over. It was always okay to joke about sex in the home. Strangely enough, I grew up having no interest in pornography and I don't really talk about my sex life with anyone.

Then you should look into finding a boffer group. It's a stripped down version of LARPing that for the most part only involves recklessly beating people with foam weapons. :D

This is one of the things that browsing mensrights has brought to my attention. So now I make a point to compliment everyone.

Heh, I met the boy in question online as well, through a friend that was trying to get me to join their LARP. Weird, the size ratios are pretty close too.

It's okay. :) I completely understand how you feel.

To be clear, that's not why he's my ex. I just didn't wanna make a story out of it. I didn't let those comments get to me, but it was ridiculous that I had to put up with them in the first place. Didn't matter that he was a great fuck, had excellent taste in music or any number of things that made me fall for him. Nope, there's clearly no reason I should be with him because he was overweight.

The text commentary was really junky on this, but the images hit me in the soft spot. I used to date a guy that was on the chunky side and a decent number of people absolutely had to make snarky comments about it. "You're so small in comparison! Doesn't that make you feel awkward?" "I find it weird that you're with him after seeing all the guys that hit on you at [social event]." "Have you tried asking him to exercise with you?" Some wouldn't even bother with the condescending small talk. they w…

If it is between you and him, and not feminists and MRA's, then why are you using it as ammunition in a Men's Rights thread?

This is a fair statement, but I believe the person who originally brings up the topic of pre-nups should explain, and be allowed to explain their reasons for wanting one. It really can come off as crass when you just throw that word around, since a lot of us first heard about pre-nups in publicized cases of a girl marrying a wealthy public figure or celebrity that was defending himself from gold-diggers. However, if the person is unwilling to listen to reason or continues to harbor hurt feelings…

Equality is a two way street, not an HOV lane for vaginas only. I love this. Just thought you should know.

My mother was the one that recorded/made notes of everything. This was completely ignored at the hearings, maybe because she did not inform my dad that she was doing it or it was not relevant. I really think she just said it to him over the phone with out being recorded but knowing her at that time...well she was border-lining a psychotic break. For all I know she left it on the answering machine/voicemail.

I'm not entirely sure, this was ten years ago and not something I think would be proper to ask him about now.

Might be a good place to start, since you're not sure about your friend's ability to hire a lawyer. But definitely pass along what I said to him, if my dad didn't take up that little snippet with his lawyer my life would be entirely different in the worst way possible.

Well, I was taken from Georgia to Wisconsin. I'm not sure how to search for the laws/regulations governing that type of ruling by state. Are you also discussing this in r/legaladvice?

Depending on the state, and what was ordered by the court, this is illegal. It seems like everyone here has offered pretty solid advice but I have one thing to add. If he gets in contact with her and she she says any variation of the phrase "You will never see your child again", that can be grounds (again, depending on the state you're in) for him to immediately win custody. My mother kidnapped me and my sister during a fall out in my parent's marriage. As soon as she said that to him and he inf…

This thread made me smile, I've introduced my SO to lots of grooming practices that are considered "girly". He is very spoiled as far as skin/hair care is concerned. :)

Personally, I think that if a gay couple experiences...how to put this...objectification for being homosexual it gets taken to further extremes than the tasteless passing comments about lesbian couples being sexy. Source: Have witnessed many girls being insanely creepy about gay couples they see/know IRL, as an extension of their love for yaoi. (fanfictions/cartoons/shows about gay couples) You can find entire blogs dedicated to this kind of shit, and they'll even write real, straight people int…

Against the principal of the school my sister was attending? That would have put more focus on my dad, who was lucky to have won custody of us. Also this was ten years ago. :/

I am so sorry. At least she moved. My dad was scared to say anything to that principle. He was afraid she would have the school counselor pull my sister out of class and question her about his parenting. He won custody of us because my mother pretty much kidnapped us and told him he would never see us again. Any bad marks on his report would have resulted in us being handed over to our grandparents. They are lovely people but the schools we would have been placed in under their roof were awful, …

Story related. My dad won custody of my little sister and I when we were 7 and 12 years old. My sister was enrolled in an elementary school in our neighborhood, and my dad informed the principle of the school that she was not to be released to my mother or any members of her family. She took it upon herself to watch us like hawks if we were playing in the neighborhood. She would follow us in her car. She would ask me what I was doing every single morning. I was waiting for the bus. Then she woul…

I've only been turned down once, and I felt really bad when he gave a long drawn out explanation about why he didn't want to. Partially because it was mildly awkward, but he could have just said no. Poor guy.

I just came here recently too, because I wanted to see what everyone is bitching about. It was a pleasant surprise. Legitimate issues and such. I'm totally supportive of this. I'd like to contribute somehow, but I really do hate most feminists, to the point that they're not welcome in my home. And since most people here seem to be genuinely decent human beings I don't want to accidentally add a bit of poison to a good thing.

And if you dare to mention the existence of misandry or the MRAs they will find you, and they will spam you to death with horseshit.

The first time I ever witnessed a woman berating a man and then pulling the "You will never know the pain of childbirth, etc." card it confused me. How could anyone think that any suffering they have experienced/may experience in the future gives them any kind of superiority over someone else?

She totally could be. Or, like myself, she could be averse to the outspoken Man-Hating lesbian types. We could dissect her response over and over to reveal all sorts of awful things about her character, we could chalk it up to how she just wanted to get her two cents in. Not everyone is going to type up a well thought out response to a post that upsets them. Even if she did make an argument that didn't just scream "Oh STFU white girl, acting like you have problems." Other posters would just drop…

I think she's referring to how certain lesbian "feminists" tend to be the loudest, most biased, and by far the least informed on certain issues.
