Peter Lloyd: 'Why I'm suing my gym over their sexist women-only hours' - Men told they can't use gym because women self loath their bodies and men make it worse.I don't actually use a women-only gym anymore, I use the fitness center at my apartment complex. The machines at Lady of America had 2-lb extra weights you could attach to go up by smaller increments too, so I know what you're talking about. The increments weren't the only thing that was more adjustable, though. Each weight machine had 2-4 adjustable parts so you could literally adjust it to fit your body type. As someone with freakishly long legs and short, stubby arms, that was really helpful … | /r/MensRights | 20/04/13 04:14 PM
Peter Lloyd: 'Why I'm suing my gym over their sexist women-only hours' - Men told they can't use gym because women self loath their bodies and men make it worse. One of the managers (and also a personal trainer) was male, and he used some of the equipment (mostly cardio), though he actually had a membership at another fitness center as well. The rest of the employees were female (though the gym itself had <10 employees - instructors, trainers, nutrition experts, etc. were all paid by contract), but we had some male class instructors. Instructors were not given the benefit of gym membership though, because they were contracted. Like I said, I liked that t… | /r/MensRights | 19/04/13 10:02 PM

One of the things that I absolutely loved about it was that their exercise machines were for smaller-framed people, generally more adjustable than co-ed equipment, and most of the weights could be adjusted by 5-lb increments instead of 10-lb increments like the machines at co-ed gyms. That said, I agree that the policies in this article are discriminatory, but I did want to def… | /r/MensRights | 19/04/13 08:58 PM |
What's up with this trend of women saying that they need to "train" their husbands? [Cross post from /r/self.]I think the equivalent of this for men would be more along the lines of characterizing their wife or girlfriend as helpless and childlike, not as a "bitch." Women use the "training" thing as a joke (a tired, old, unfunny joke) and it emphasizes the masculine, the "barbaric," and "uncivilized" nature of the male. When men lightly joke about their female spouses, it generally takes on a more feminine attribution, such as "Awww, isn't she just the most precious little dummy?" I've heard these in th… | /r/MensRights | 12/04/13 09:05 PM
"Smart women can’t (shouldn’t) marry men who aren’t at least their intellectual equal."TIL that my younger-than-me and not-so-brainy boyfriend isn't worth marrying. We will continue to live in sin then! | /r/MensRights | 29/03/13 04:27 PM
Facebook argument... I can't fault his reasoning. Is this something argued by feminists? Honestly I would expect to hear this kind of thing from those in favor of traditional gender roles and chivalry, such as religious conservatives, not supporters of feminism. | /r/MensRights | 22/03/13 01:51 PM
