I experienced this as well. I wish I had nanny cams to show what actually went on. I think this is far more common than society wants to admit.

I feel for you, really I do. Once you re in it it’s nearly impossible to be released from it. The actors involved don’t want anyone to get out. Why? Follow the money. Multi multi billion dollar industry. Beyond broken and exploited at the cost of family destruction.

And in each of these examples the monetary incentive always outweighs “doing the right thing”. How far our society in North America has fallen. It’s pathetic honestly.

It’s wild how the North American model is so rooted in destruction of families all in the name of profit for bad actors.

I’ve heard this as well.. that I should be lucky to get what I got. I also had a judge. Tell me to my face that 10 minutes of FaceTime two times a week was more than generous.

Reading this is like reading a version of the hell I know. Naïve is an understatement. After separating, I also thought there would be some anger and resentment (I left) but after a while, would settle down and cooler heads prevail, putting the children first. Oh how I was wrong… My biggest underestimation was the ability of financial power to sway the outcome. The only fairness you get is the fairness you can afford. Unfortunately for me I couldn’t come close to affording what the other side co…

I hope they can as well. Similar situation. UHNW family backing, masters degree but doesn’t want to lift a finger and just collect a handout. Stay classy

Nice to hear some of you get a fair shake. I get 15% Tried for 4+ years to get 50:50 but I don’t have the financial ability to fund against an ex whose family has three commas in their war chest. Naive me thought there would be equity and children put first. Wrong. Spite, vengeance and the need for retribution took over their mindset. So I show up as the best father I possibly can be in my extremely limited time. Zero faith in the family court.

Apparently it’s not an automatic. I consulted with a lawyer and they said it needs to be varied. Makes sense….

That’s unfortunately correct. Imputation was based on a past reality but they are refusing to adjust it to current reality. Yes the system is an absolute mess.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
