It was never ratified because conservative women wanted "Animal Farm" style equality (as did male politicians who wanted female votes - look up the "Hayden Rider"). "Conservative" women were worried about if the ERA got ratified and they got divorced, they wouldn't get sole custody or alimony.

I hate posts like this regarding small businesses owned by people of any race or gender. Half of all small businesses fail after five years because most people are idiots who don't know how to run a business. Or they think it's 1980 and they open a specialized retail store. Honestly, I have only one rule when it comes to supporting businesses: If they have a good or service that I want or need for a good price, then I will support them.
