If you were together and had some good times then by all means be friends with her, she is another person after all. Just make sure that she gets the help she needs for her mental health and be there for her if necessary, and remember to see where the boundaries of a friendship lie and know when there are things you cannot do for her

Just do what you think is right, you can ask others opinions and what their experiences have been, but ultimately the choice is yours. Before making your decision make sure to check arguments on both sides, don't just jump to a conclusion after hearing one opinion, argument or otherwise. I'm sure you will do what is right for you
