2	Best explanation I've seen of the "tech gender gap" I'd believe that. In my experience the majority of women I've worked with in engineering fields (across multiple companies) have been Indian or Asian. Culturally something is different there. Growing up computers and engineering weren't exactly fields that propelled your social life as a kid. Talking to a girl about computers or programming would make their eyes glaze over.
