I think you bring up some good points, but it’s still not the main reason why women were excluded from medical research, which still has vast consequences to this day.

I really don’t think it’s a good idea to gatekeep suicide

I’m a suicide survivor myself, and let me tell you, that is completely false. Most people in the mental hospital, men or women, were actively trying to get themselves to die

I’m talking about the global incidence of misogyny that plagues the earth
/r/MensRights30/08/24 12:42 PM

women attempt suicide 3x more.. must be due to “extreme misogyny,” right?
/r/MensRights30/08/24 12:39 PM

drug use and homelessness is caused by “extreme misandry?” How? These are terrorist acts, explicitly caused by extreme forms of misogyny, in which a direct correlation has been made. Honor killings, gang rapes, mass terrorism, violence, oppression, refusal to educate women at all in many countries, explicit removal of women’s rights, etc.

Extreme misogyny usually leads to far more rapes, deaths, and destruction than feminism. Also, the equivalent would be misandry.

<image> Would you believe my 2/10 ass if I told you I’ve been with 3 women and am currently engaged to one?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/24 07:25 PM

I would say the main issue is the ratio of men to women on dating apps. It’s 80% men vs 20% women. So of course there are going to be fewer matches. I have seen bi women avoid dating apps as a whole, (excluding her) because the only matches they would get were men. Some, such as tinder, are up to 90% male. This creates and obvious issue of supply and demand that is undeniable. Women’s pickiness supplements this and narrows men’s choices even more. They are put in a position in which they cannot …
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 05:29 PM

I wouldn’t say women are the main problem in that regard
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 05:21 PM

Ngl that’s not an excuse to stoop to their level.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 05:16 PM

I frequently see women become the blame for issues that aren’t their fault, or are only partially their fault. Such as online dating, it’s more complex than just “women bad,” though there is a component of selfishness, it’s not the whole picture. But when I bring the whole picture up, about how dating apps are disproportionately male, are flooded with bots, and intentionally have a shitty/addictive model to keep you on the app, I’m suddenly a feminist cope who doesn’t know what she’s talking abo…

What’s the most misogynistic/misandrist comment/post you’ve seen on this sub?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 06:48 PM

The day I stopped taking this sub seriously is the day I went on an alt, said the most misogynistic thing I possibly could, and got upvoted/agreed with. Since that day, I have left the sub and am only posting/commenting very rarely. Now I go days, even weeks without posting.

Norah said her breaking was because “the high price she paid for ‘the burden of deception’ of a separate identity and for trying to hold two gender identities in her mind.” She also went over “her decade-long history with treatment-resistant depression, saying: ‘…my brain was never quite the same after I zapped it with that first course of SSRIs.’” This was 20 years later

This is like bragging about people born rich most often being far wealthier than people born poor lmfao They did amazingly with the specs they have.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/24 06:38 PM

And what privileges do men have? Women don’t have to die in war? Since when?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/24 04:29 PM

What privileges do women have?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/24 04:23 PM

So “gynocentric,” in that the world currently revolves around the wants, needs, and perspectives of women?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/24 04:19 PM

I would also like to say that a single cousin of yours is hardly indicative of what all or most women prefer/want
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/24 03:03 AM
3

Indeed that is the case at times. enablers are very real and often just as bad as the abusers, especially when other actors, such as children, are involved. I never denied as such. However, that doesn’t invalidate everyone who has been involved in an abusive relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/24 02:50 AM
2

Situations are often more complex than they seem. You can’t really judge until you’ve familiarized yourself with unbiased sources that critically examine the matter if you have never been involved in such abusive predicaments
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/24 02:44 AM
4

Yes, not everyone is a saint. Not everything is a victim/perpetrator situation. Some women are the perpetrators, some contribute to their own situations. However, you can’t just frame the entire thing as a simple “sob story” for which no one should rightly feel empathy. Circumstances vary. You can’t make rash generalizations in such aforementioned circumstances That can get into victim blaming territory very quickly.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/24 02:21 AM
4

I think it’s derogatory to reduce people’s trauma to “sob stories”
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/24 01:38 AM
6

This isn’t an “inconvenient truth,” it’s an absolute and rash assumption with no evidence to back it. Why would I engage which such dialogues when they lack substance? You aren’t arguing in good faith, I can tell by your immediate tendency to stereotype me. I don’t date greedy people, I don’t even date men, this has nothing to do with me. I am dismissing both sides of the argument.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/24 01:04 AM
6

How about we all stop blaming each other for everything? Blah blah bad, men are immoral, blah blah blah, women only date criminals. It’s all not going to lead us anywhere. This “discourse” is counterproductive and not intellectually honest.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/24 01:01 AM

I’ve deduced that wasting my time arguing with people like you isn’t worth it. You will never change my mind no matter what I say or do due to your incredible bias, I’ve learned this over time on this sub. So instead of succumbing to brain rot arguments, I will read a few books every day. Thanks.

If men were the sole providers of the family we as humans would have died off long ago.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/24 06:05 PM

Would you be more receptive to the notion that women were privileged in the past?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/24 05:54 PM

Women weren’t allowed to vote, were limited in their higher education pursuits (a considerable amount of universities did not admit women until the late 19th or early 20th centuries), women were not allowed to own property independently of their husbands, women were often barred from many professions or faced significant discrimination in the workplace (in several instances being paid less for equal work), married women were considered legally subordinate to their husbands in many instances. Tha…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/24 05:51 PM

This isn’t about burdens, it’s about the freedoms and societal standards that propped men up and tore women down. Gaining more burdens is a product of garnering more power. Not every statement must be taken literally. I was merely phrasing that they have more rights relative to the past.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/24 05:33 PM

Did I ever imply the contrary was the case? I’m just saying that for a period of time, men had more rights than women.

Exactly. Women have autonomy now and people are getting salty about it

/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/24 03:15 PM

Yes, yes it is. That is not defendable. Any absolute perception about men or women is sexist. That’s a given.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/24 02:58 PM
2

Discrimination towards women is more recognizable to them because they are the targets of such discrimination. There is not “sniffing out,” I agree with that. It’s more so what people say that they don’t realize is sexist. It only seems like a personality detector because you don’t realize the more subtle misogyny in their statements. I do agree that women aren’t magical like that, though. It’s far more complex than just one gender being one way in an absolute. These are all broad stereotypes on…

I have never said that once in my life, so why are you holding me accountable for the actions of others? Why even apply that statement to the conversation, then? You were alluding to some sort of hypocrisy on the basis of my statement being contradictory. You based that assumption of being contradictory off of the assertions of separate individuals. When did I mention men in my comment? It seems you are applying the actions of other women to myself, which is an ineffective way of thinking to say the least. How can you adequately generalize a single Redditor’s action, let alone several pertaining to this particular subreddit, to all, or even most women? That is bad practice. /r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 05:50 AM

As a lesbian? No, I’m not
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 05:47 AM

As a cis white person, yeah, it does. I want to eliminate that so I don’t get privileges over others. I’m still firm on eliminating the status quo. Though, I am not benefited by it in other regards by virtue of being lesbian and autistic.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 05:45 AM

How so?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 05:42 AM

Wdym? I’ve heard countless stories of men getting a boner out of nowhere, with no prior arousal
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 05:40 AM

The fact that so many get triggered when I say I am a feminist is so funny to me I will never change, regardless of these reactions I will never stop fighting for my cause. I don’t care how many people think I am some demon for advocacy Demolish that status quo
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 05:36 AM

I could make the same justification with female rape victims. Many orgasm during rape. It’s involuntary. So is getting hard whilst being raped. It’s not something people can resist or control. This is toxic as shit, bro.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 05:33 AM

Several reasons: Men are assumed to have a position in power in society. they are the perpetrators, whereas women are the victims. Men’s sex drive is framed as so utterly biological that many egregiously assume that men enjoy the sexual atrocities that are committed against them. Men who are put in a position of weakness are regarded as inferior or even laughed at. They are not empathized with because emotions are seen as beneath them. They are a display of weakness. The toxic mindset that “Men …
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 05:18 AM

It’s a simple assessment of society, more than anything else. It’s not supposed to be combative nor allude to competition. Many feminists actually acknowledge that they aren’t as oppressed as many other groups. For example, both of the feminist books I read today were written by cisgender, white feminists who were heterosexual. They all acknowledged that these statuses gave them privileges. If it were really an oppression contest, wouldn’t they be rushing to convey these statuses as contributing…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 05:00 AM

Mainstream feminism posits that women are an oppressed group, yes, but they also acknowledge that men’s position of power brings them anguish. One of the core facets of the patriarchy is that it’s very harmful to men. Framing feminism as an oppression contest grossly misrepresents its points. I agree with the second paragraph, I never said otherwise. My point was that the assertion that the reason why people believe feminists hate men was because of the word patriarchy was incorrect. “They don’t…

/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 04:17 AM

Ah yes, such good faith arguments as: “If women were REALLY oppressed as they say they are, they’d just up and make their own society.” “Feminism and female autonomy have been a plague on society.” “If feminism is SO successful, then why are there women who aren’t feminists? Haha GOTCHA! 🤨🤨🤨” “Girls are petty and dramatic” “Why do feminists celebrate films on which women smoke while pregnant? Clearly, they’re the reason why this is an occurrence, right? /r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 03:56 AM

Have you been active on the sub?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 03:53 AM

Indeed, I never said otherwise. I’m just saying that the proportion of bad-faith questions to legitimate discourse surprises me
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 03:50 AM

These people are mainly posting gotchas, rather than truly asking questions in good faith. These gotchas are so utterly ill informed that it’s not even funny at times.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 03:45 AM

If it’s an echo chamber, then why are the majority of questions bad faith? My own perception on whether questions are ill informed do not indicate the general consensus as to the questions being asked.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 03:44 AM

The amount of belligerent and ill-informed individuals that post on the ask feminists sub will never ceases to amaze me. Keep in mind, there are very few posts on the subreddit to begin with. The vast majority of posts are severely ill informed Redditors thinking of the dumbest gotchas known to mankind. Here are some of my recent faves, from just this week: 1. why don’t women make their own society if theyre so oppressed? (as if that was an easier fix to the injustices women face) 2. Why don’t w…

/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 01:38 AM

I find it so funny that alt-right women tend to be the recipient of the most hate and misogyny from incels. These women, they speak up, they form podcasts and produce content that agrees with the highly misogynistic worldview of the alt right. But the very act of pursuing a career, forming a podcast, etc. is seen as deviating from a woman’s apparent duties as a homemaker This is why I find r/leopardsatemyface to be so damn entertaining.

Though, there’s no single reason, rather a multitude. One article frames it as follows: “Women equate forceful and aggressive men, who are also charming, to an ideal masculinity based on power and roughness”. In addition, “theorists have said that SKGs may be responding to the overt maleness of the man who has done the most brutal act imaginable. You are correct. However, you overlook one thing. This issue presents far differently in men than it does women. Society teaches men to place values and self worth onto being sexually desired. As a result, sex can be used as a stress reliever when this isn’t really ideal for their situation. There’s also the matter of intimacy: it does not exist on the same level with male friendships as it does with female friendships, especially in America. In other countries, men hold hands, they kiss each ot…

That’s why Men’s Lib exists; it is a feminist movement that focuses mostly on men’s issues. Feminism, at its core, opposes the patriarchy. This is a massive help to men, because the patriarchy both benefits but can be very harmful to them. Patriarchal norms tell men: -Not to cry or show emotions. Emotions are weakness, and you must be above that behavior. This largely contributes to the high suicide success rate in men. -another I’ll that stems from this aversion to weakness is the tendency for …

Women have often been defined purely in terms of what they be in service of men. Because this perception does not exist equivalently as applied to men, it is harder for men to appeal to women. This is also a natural product of posing women as inherently inferior and rampant relegation of women to non autonomous beings. It’s not that good men lack, it’s that men who view women as truly equal beings, are not acting to satisfy their own sexual needs, and do not objectify them lack. (See the rampant…
