Well, I do see your point. I view feminism by the original definition - simply fighting for women to have the same rights as men, nothing more and nothing less. I just view any 'other kind' of feminism as an offspring that should get another name. I know it isn't like that but I think it is a shame that the word has lost its original meaning. And I still think it is important to remember that indeed, not all feminist are like that.. You should never lump so many people into a perceived stereotyp…

Women are generally paid less than men for the same work, and that is a fact. I find it amazing how it seems like a lot of people in here won't acknowledge that women aren't equal to men? Fighting for men's rights isn't mutually exclusive with fighting or just believing in women's rights, but it seems like that is the general consensus in here. Because everyone is an individual, and I find it narrow minded to not acknowledge that. I'm getting downvoted simply for opposing this hate and asking for a more openminded outlook. And a lot of people here call /r/feminism a hategroup? look in the mirror.

if you truly believe women have achieved equality then you are turning a blind eye to a hell of a lot of things. And if 'feminist' holds such a negative meaning for you that you won't even listen to a viewpoint without putting down the feminist 'label' then consider me an 'equalitist'. Both women and men have a long way to go before we are equal, and we'll never get there if we don't acknowledge that.

So, because some self-proclaimed feminists aren't really truly feminists (as the definition is equality of the sexes.) but rather want privileges for women, then all feminists should cease to fight for their cause? And by this I mean true feminists that fight for equality, not for female superiority. That just doesn't make any sense to me if that is the view you hold..
