Yeah, part of me wants to double down on this. Yes, I chose him. I did that. Clearly my picker was broke and I needed better screening materials. Own your mistakes, ladies, especially when he's damaging you. Like every other mistake, throw it away and start over. Doesn't have to define you.

Do what you need to do to get ahead professionally. Yeah, you shouldn't have to but the women who get the "you look low energy today" at work with a fresh face don't deserve to have systemic sexism stunt their advancement.

Another guy's dick pic popped up on his phone.

Conversely as a woman who has never faked an orgasm, I can assure you the reason so many women do is because of how goddamn offended some men get when you say they aren't doing it right. Looking back with more experience, you should still not sell yourself short. Letting a guy know he isn't getting you off is an excellent vetting tool. In my experience they'll either shrug and roll over or make it their personal mission to try every strategy and every technique under the sun until you both figur…

I'm so sorry. It's frankly a huge problem. There are men who don't need it or dont rely on it (although I don't think there are a ton of men who see it as exploitive) but it's really a rarity. Frankly if I were going back in the dating scene, I think I'd casually ask this in the friendship "getting to know you" stage what their opinions on porn are. Not to argue, just to know if it's even worth the time to engage romantically. If the answer is somewhere in the ballpark of "I use it but only amat…

I mean, I didn't get hit until I was visibly pregnant. I guess that counts.

I tried to learn! It's seriously not easy but looked like a ton of fun.

It's also really difficult to retain friends the older you get (or maybe I'm just bad at it). I really struggle to maintain friendships when I know (because they told me but also because it's obvious) that my best friends are in relationships with truly garbage men. Keeping things light in order to keep my filter up feels false and really unenjoyable. Activity groups are a wonderful way of making and keeping friends without that intimacy requirement you tend to have with friends from childhood o…

This is how they try and trick young women into accepting the older predatory male. Get married young but to someone who can fully support you and the babies you need to have asap before getting a career. Literally the only way to do that without accepting a lifetime of struggle and/or poverty is to marry someone 10+ years older than you.

That's honestly true. Before my last two first dates things already felt serious, as in we had discussed marriage and relationships because I have only ever dated from within my friend pool -- the one date with a stranger I ever had was a terrifying experience. It felt like things had to change instantly to show we were now more than friends. That only happened authentically with my now-husband. It very much felt like an act one was expected to put on with the others.

I agree, but mostly because positive support is so rare compared to radio silence. So brave of you to get yourself out

Dude, never move for a guy. 9 times out of 10 (and that's a generous percentage) it's a terrible idea and puts you in a position to accept whatever your life looks like there, no matter how bad.

I had no idea my lack of cooking skills was part of what got me a decent guy lol. Sadly, the lack of cooking skills came about from a lvm who shit on anything I made until I just stopped cooking for 10 years.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
