or are so blind to what vetting means they’re just focused on HVM meaning ‘will financially provide for me’ when what RPW actually advocates for is vetting far beyond this for true long term relationship success. This is seriously my biggest annoyance with women here calling a guy a HVM - because then often what follows is a flaming pile of red flags. I'm like, for me personally, money is meaningless if he doesn't have the right mindset or personality traits behind it. I mean, just anecdotally I…

All of this. My husband has great style - frankly far better than my own, and so I accept whatever suggestions he wants to give me in this regard. But if the roles were reversed and he wasn't receptive to my input, I'd have to just get over it. Funny enough, there's a guy I know through work who's the site security guard, so I had no idea how he dressed when not in uniform. At some point he had mentioned he doesn't even own a pair of jeans and basically lives in track pants. That's his thing and…

Lately I've been trying to get done up for him as much as I possibly can. Is there something he specifically likes you to wear, or makeup, or a way you style your hair? I try to get reasonably done up for him and - probably most importantly - take his feedback and integrate it. So if he likes the way I've done my hair/nails/makeup, I just try to do more of whatever that thing is. Also, the other thing is noting where he struggles and see if you can do anything to just help ease that burden. For …

I second this. Getting a Mirena was one of the best things I ever did.

Only a month and a half together? Yeah, you should probably tell him to take a hike. I mean, what possible future is there with a person like this? Frankly, I would say dating college guys is largely a waste of time. I stopped dating college-aged guys when I was in college and I have to say, it was one of the best things I ever did. I was 19 when I met my now husband, then 31. Not saying age is the only thing that makes the difference because younger guys can be responsible too, but I'd almost g…

This is a good point - it's a lot easier to respond with grace to a person who doesn't automatically become defensive. Not saying OP is, but it's a possibility. I know for myself, my husband knows that I'm a whiz in the kitchen but not so great at the cleaning (he teases me about my habit of leaving smears on cupboard doors and says he can see everything I've touched while cooking. Lol). I'm getting better at it because I know that he's right when he points out messes I've left that I didn't not…

I'm working on this too, for acne and gut health(I mean, I'm 30 now... why the breakouts still?). It seems the simplest advice - namely focussing on eating enough fruits and vegetables - is actually helping me massively. You should probably get tested for any deficiencies before turning to supplements, though, as otherwise you'll almost certainly just be wasting your money. There's actually no evidence that vitamin supplements improve health unless you're deficient. Also, in case it helps, I'm a…

I think the word "expects" is key here, and I think you're absolutely right. Did I sleep with my husband on our first date? Yes. Not proud of that fact, but yes - in all honesty, I did not expect the relationship to go anywhere(he was a single dad and we have a huge age gap). If I had known that I'd still be here 12 years later, I would probably have played my hand differently than I did. But there are definitely guys who expected it, and that was an immediate no for me.

Boy, do we have a lot in common aside from merely our usernames. 😬 I don't have any advice, just want you to know that I think I might be in the same boat.

I always felt like my dad exemplifies this well. My mom was an authoritarian parent and I've never seen her actually, in practice, submit to him as they taught me that their faith dictates. However, he also was never a pushover. He never once yelled or raised his voice, which inspired me to respect him a lot more than Mom, if I'm being honest. I see the same thing from him with his employees - He's always got an open door and also, interestingly, mirrors their manner of speaking really well(minu…

I've also listened to a lot of what he has to say, and I came to the realization that what makes his ideology so insidious is that 90% of what he says is pretty non-controversial, or at the very least inconsequential. What bothers me about him is he does not seem to see women - or indeed almost anyone other than himself - as a human being deserving of decency and respect. I hear plenty from him about how to attract women and nothing of substance about how to keep them other than just always bein…

I can't tell you how many male lawyers I've met through my job who are married to nurses. They get their educated wife with a great practical skillset for caring for kids, all in one convenient package. It has always made sense to me.

You don't have to apologize. Just know that being confused about who you are and what you're meant to be is, for most of us, just a part of being a young adult. And you hear this in athletic communities primarily, but the principle applies here too: you should be comparing yourself with your past self, not with other men. Because that other guy, you don't know his past or how he struggled to get where he is. Maybe he's naturally talented or genetically gifted and then it makes even less sense to…

Oh yeah, I was 100% aware that what was meant was protect from other men, but I just wanted to let us all bask in the ridiculousness of it all. Also I am so glad I met my husband when I was young and naive and was not wary of unfamiliar men. I literally met him because I was making eyes at him on a city bus. 😂 I wasn't as direct as, "Hey, you're cute. How's it going?" but it was in that direction. Lol.

Man, I would reach through my screen and give you a hug if I could. Seriously. I'm only 30, so it's not like I have a lifetime of sage wisdom to offer, other than that I spent my teenage years trying so hard to make friends and feeling terrible about myself. If I had one piece of advice to give, it's that sometimes it's a fine line between trying to improve yourself and trying to be someone you're not (like, for example, your step 4 is a fine goal, but not if you're putting up a front), if that …

You have kids and men gripe about how you've ruined your body and are now worthless, or you remain childfree and they declare you worthless because you're past your expiration date. There's no winning with the red pill man mindset.

The "protect" part is what really gets me. Protect her from what? Statistically, a woman's greatest threat to safety is her romantic partner. We're not out here getting chased by sabertooth tigers on the daily.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
