Erin Pizzey, the woman who opened the first ever domestic violence shelters (one for women and one for men) stated that domestic abuse is largely mutual, and most of the women who came to her were just as violent as the men they were fleeing. 5	The boxes we put men inside I wouldn't say toxic masculinity. Masculinity has nothing to do with it. It's toxic gender roles and expectations. Being big, loud, and aggressive (macho) is something people say is masculine, but there are lots of women who are all those things, in the same way being petty, vain, and manipulative are seen as female traits but they still apply to lots of men. 2	I've long been deeply suicidal about this. Every time I see it I spiral into self harm and drug abuse... Most people I've brought this up to simply brush it off... The last person I lamented to (and I am NOT kidding) literally told me "it's probably good men are suicidal about this." Maybe you should read the Ranger's Apprentice. They're for a younger audience but they're fun, and part of them directly relates to being short/small and the stigma around it. Maybe it'll help, even if only a little. 1	Why Does This Work Have to Be Seen As Anti-Woman? For lots of people it's the Us Against Them and the Oppression Olympics mentalities. Men need to be the bad guys, advocating for men is advocating for sexism, if it's not about us it's bad, etc. To prove them wrong we need to be better than them. The main thing that pushed me away from taking part in feminist discussions is that they talk about men as if we're the enemy. We should ensure that none of us start being the same way about women.
