Or maybe they just wanted to know what the dude meant when they said, "...in my experience." I thought the same, "ooh, what experience?" as it usually leads to some cool stories from the source of the experience. This one just dwindled out quick. But it is reddit. So 99% of the time, you'd be right. His comment history doesn't really seem that aggressive, though.

Thanks! Its all good now, he's remarried and my step-family is awesome. And my mom isnt like evil or anything either - she didnt have marketable skills to enter the job market and it still impacts her life. Shit happens.

Yeah, she was awarded something like a ten year alimony agreement that would terminate if she re-married. She ended up with some guy roughly a year after their divorce and is still with him, but stayed unmarried specifically to collect every check possible.

Depends entirely on the state. In California and Ohio, I know alimony cuts off when you remarry. Specifically because my mom did this to my father to maximize her payments.
