The two "flavors" are Clinging and Aversion. Being attached to outcomes rather than accepting the reality of the present. Either you want to hang on to what is fleeting and impermanent, which causes suffering or you want to get away from what is happening (which is also fleeting and impermanent by the way), which also causes suffering. Or there is a flavor of neither clinging, nor aversion.

It's just a manifestation of the feminine imperative to find a male with good genes. They want a "naturally fit man" because they don't want to be duped so their kids are strong and healthy. Women are also soliptic and narcissistic so it comes out that way.

A fake overly enthusiastic sales rep is one way to frame it, which would be douchy, you're right. A light-hearted skeptic of the weather would be a lot more funny.

Quit being melodramatic. Being bald is death? Your life has sunk since going bald? It sounds like your balls receding is the problem, not your hairline.

Thats a huge detail. You didn't really have plans, it was an unwritten agreement. She's not cancelling you at all. She's taking up an offer to do something fun with someone who offered concrete plans with her, rather than vague hangouts. I think this is just a wake up call. Women like guys who are active. They may like you, but then they are offered with a genuine good time, she's not going to keep going with the guy who doesn't really do anything. This has probably already affected the way she …

Women can't stand women who are worse than them at manipulating men. Still, they never pass up an opportunity to signal to men that they are not manipulative cunts like those other women. The irony should be palpable to men, but Beta chubs can't smell the bullshit past the clouds of perfume.

Go to therapy. She doesn't realize she's coming across as a dirty rotten, money grubbing whore who sneaks behind your back to access your bank account. Go to therapy, because it will help her realize that she is being to overt with her manipulation. If she's going to be successful in life she will need to become more skillful in concealing her money grubbing whorish ways. Therapy and marriage counciling helps with that. It also help you to see her as more of partner in life, rather than the mone…

Beta losers like this know the answer to their "problem" before they even ask. Why do they look for people who will lie to them when they, themselves know it would be a lie? Losers live in a dream of scarcity. They think about what they could lose, then they worry about it in the background of their mind all day. They literally make up scenarios and reasons for why things will fail, and they bury their head in their own butts until the only way they see an end to the madness is to swallow the bu…

There was just a thread in the Portland subreddit about an article concerning a homeless man who identified as a woman to get into a homeless shelter and how uncomfortable it made some of the other women. End every shower first with 30 seconds of the hottest water you can stand, then a minute with no heat at all. Just keep moving the cold all over your body and try to not hyperventilate. After a while of doing it you look forward to that feeling of being accutely aware of the icy cold and you feel super refreshed when you get out. Its one way to get in that mindset of sticking with something when it's uncomfortable.

To further expand, the Mahayana schools of Buddhism (such as zen buddhism) refer to the "three poisons" which are unwholesome states. They are considered in the school to be the basic states of mind that lead to all other unwholesome states of mind, which create more suffering. The three poisons are ignorance, attachment (or clinging), and aversion. Any truly red pill man will be exercising his self control in regards to these three states of mind, and try to realize when he is in the grips of t…

A part time job will do a lot for your confidence, and you can use that money to save up for a car or a few other things. If you start budgeting habits right now, put away part of your paycheck in savings, and always, always set aside budget for bigger purchases in advance, rather than spending everything you have, you will have good money habits. The amazing thing about meditation is that it is not simply a single event where you are one thing before and one thing after. Our state of mind is always changing, regardless of mindfulness, but a little bit of awareness goes a long way in setting you up to be more receptive to being mindful in the future. Parts of the Buddhist laws of karma can be understood in this way. If you take an action, as a result there is a reaction. Psychologically (or even biologically), when you foster a state of i…

Yes. It comes down to leverage, and value. Cal Newport uses the phrase "Market Capital" to describe it. If you have the skills and value to be able to negotiate, you have something to work with. If you're just trying to charm your boss, its not likely to work. In short, be of value enough that you are bargaining with leverage. If you don't know what leverage you have, you probably don't have any.

Casual Misogyny? Your language is divorced from reality, because you found some shit in my post about flippantly hating women that is not in there. No matter how nice a woman is, she will begin to get frustrated and lose attraction to her boyfriend if he turns out to be a passive loser chump. That's the only statement that is a broad generalization. Everything else I said was specific to this woman, just read it within the context.
/r/MensRights16/05/15 11:03 PM

You can't negotiate attraction by telling women what they should be attracted to. Despite what women say, they are attracted to leaders, not passive followers.

This is one of the skills learned from meditation. A large part of meditation is inserting that space mentally by disengaging the autopilot response to streams of stimuli. Have a thought, go back to the breath. Feel stuff, go back to the breath. All of the manual movement of attention will make the action instinctual over time.

A woman's actions like this constantly suggest that they think men should be able to handle a little shit due to their being tougher. They will say they are mentally as tough or tougher than men, but then act in ways that betrays that women think they are weaker. The best recourse for men is to realize this and treat them that way. They are taking the idea that things should be totally equal too liberally and sometimes giving up leadership altogether. You don't leave the weak out in the cold to …

It surprises me when you guys don't get that "losers" (passive, low self-esteem, and low achieving men) are subhuman to women. They are either invisible, used for their attention, money, resources, and time, or used as a punching bag to make a woman feel better about herself, or a pawn in her social schemes to influence changes in her social circle. Just like the other commenter, you misread what I wrote. I have quite a few friends that I share my life and difficult feelings with that are women. This is not a problem with women that I am talking about. Its a situation with the women that are in a relationship with a man they are supposed to feel attracted to. That attraction dwindles when a man exposes his vulnerabilities to his lover and when she loses attraction to the man in her life, the man can expect to have a shittier time in the rel…

You don't have to pretend that you are just naturally drawn to less shitty people than I am, you just have to make sure that you are disagreeing with something I actually said. I didn't say you can't share your feelings with women. I didn't even say you can't share them with your female friends. I said a man is a fool to think he can simply share his tender feelings with his girlfriend/wife, and expect the relationship to improve as a result.
/r/MensRights09/05/15 06:20 AM
18

Don't listen to women who say men should share their feelings with their girlfriends/wives. As soon as you test it out they will be simply repulsed by it. Women don't give a shit about men's feelings unless they are feelings about women's feelings. This is part of what makes male spaces so important. Men have to stand with each other because women won't do it for us.

Seriously. So many women are deluded about what it takes to get a nice body. "I don't have the genetics to have a high metabolism." "She's so lucky to have a body like that." Even a lot of effeminate overweight men say stupid shit like "I'm chubby but my frame has always been big..." No, you're just fat. I could just as easily skew a study of women's tendency to take men to the cleaners as revenge during divorce as "study shows women are cunning and smart" because they are more likely to manipulate courts in their favor to get their ex to pay alimony after being unemployed during marriage. Why would you want to shame someone for their natural preferences? If dick size matters to a woman, then it matters. Don't get all gooey eyed and mopey because you have a small dick and some women don't want to fuck a guy with a small dick. This isn't a men's rights issue. Your examples aren't accurate though. The hamster is more precise than in denial, because someone can be in denial without hampstering, but they can't hampster without being in denial. Hampstering is a subset of denial. A type of denial. And hampstering is clearly defined. Calling someone a mysoginist is not intended to create a more specific definition of an activity. Its goal is obfuscation of reality, the opposite of what the term hampstering is doing.

In my hometown, I dealt with MADD constantly to try to get music festivals and concerts going with the support of other local organizations. It was going to mean more publicity and more ticket sales if we could convince parents that it was a safe environment. Every time we tried to contact them, they chose to not reply to our correspondence. Instead, they would always go to the newspaper, drum up some drama about how we are trying to be secretive, refusing to talk to them, and make a bunch of wi…

I've lived in 6 different states in different corners of the US, and in each state I lived in at least 2 different cities. Always at least 6 months at each house, except for a few cities where I couch surfed while playing music. Some cities were shitholes compared to the city I lived in 50 miles away. Some neighborhoods I lived in felt like different cities even though they were <5 miles away. You're going to find places that are great, and places that are not great in most of the places you go.…

There was one teacher at my high school who was notorious for hanging out with and hitting on the hottest girls at the school. He ended up marrying one of the students in my grade a year after she graduated. Snatched her up quick. It wasn't until I visited my hometown hanging out with a bunch of drunk girls I knew from school that I heard them all gaggle on and on about what a beast in the sack he was. When they were still in school. That was actually one of the bigger jolts to waking up that I …

Out of all the kinds of misleading ways of presenting facts, this is the biggest of my pet peeves when it comes to feminists. Without a doubt, the Shanghai boys get higher grades, which renders her point completely useless, so she just leaves that bit out. Its lying by deliberate omission. I posted a funny synopsis of the two characters in the story on a facebook post, making it a point to lay out all the parts of the main character woman that made her a huge shit head. She's a lazy, unambitious student studying a dead end degree in college, who doesn't think about how her actions will affect her future. She's rude, condescending, self important, clumsy, and obnoxious to everyone. Somehow, she lands the affection of a gorgeous millionaire with tons of money, power, effectiveness, …

I found out towards the end of our relationship that she had been "raped" by 4 dudes at a party a couple years before we met, and that she was too drunk to know what was going on. She dropped out of school after the incident and got her GED. Well, being the curious skeptic I am, I found out that nobody who was at the party believed that shit, for good reason. I stayed with a girl for years out of pity for her medical situation. All she did was sit around on Facebook all day eating the food I bought, get shit faced drunk and stay out at bars with strangers, got fat, tried to rape me using the threat of a rape accusation as leverage, and ended up fucking two dudes on a trip to her home town after expressing that she was afraid I didn't love her anymore. The quantity of L-theanine in green tea is so small. The benefit comes from the proper ratio that you can't match by drinking tea. You want either a 1:2 or 3:4 ratio of caffeine to L-theanine. Also, the synthetic version called suntheanine is more potent with the active chemical than you would find in nature.

You know, if only I could rely on definitions, rather than the actions I see, I would believe that. I will never take a salesman's word as the final say on a product, or a politician, or a spokesperson for a certain group. I view actions and the effects of actions. And the actions and effects from feminists don't match their word so I can't put any value on the "goals" of feminism.

The obvious choice to me is to not go hide, but to sit with that feeling for a moment to realize that its built upon a misunderstanding of the situation. Every person in the gym was at one time weak and ineffective at exercising, but for some reason, women get to have a special place to be if they feel that way, and everybody else, including men, have to pay for those women to have that space, if they want to use the gym. Its that simple.

I'm convinced that a lot of "rape" are cases where a woman didn't like the social consequences of their decisions to have sex with someone so they made themselves out to be the victim to preserve their social status. Women are driven to not be seen as anything they don't want to be seen is. Often not because its wrong. Their moral compass is often a tool of self preservation.

Get out there and make mistakes. If you look back, only do it to forgive yourself for making mistakes, and find value in the knowledge you gained from the experience. Keep at it.

Its a shame that all of this, frankly, bitchy behavior is absolutely oozing with that fake veneer of controlled tone that gives the appearance of being open and nice. Its not nice at all, and any attempt to put it out would likely get flooded with accusations of "contention" and a bunch of bullshit that would convince themselves that they are doing what's right. Nobody should have to sit down and take this shit like the reporter did. Her restraint playing by their game looked difficult to mainta…

Check out /r/meditation or /r/Buddhism, or try out some CBT with a therapist or something. TRP isn't a Theory Of Everything, its a framework to view a small subset of reality in. Spend a little time taking care of your mental health. Daily logging and journaling in long hand does wonders for me.

And women say they want more "realistic women" in movies, yet so many women wouldn't identify with "bulky" ass-kicking females and would probably complain that she's too manly or something. Ass-kicking women have jobs I'm the movie industry: as stunt doubles. Because if people wanted to have average to good looking strong women in lead roles, they would do their own stunts.

I was using the way a sitar works to describe the way a lot of women react to emotional situations. Its very similar.

Most women aren't empathetic, they are sympathetic. Like the drone strings on a sitar. When the main strings vibrate at the same frequency as the sympathetic strings are likely to vibrate, the sympathetic drone strings are vibrated by the air movement and they sound out. The drone strings themselves aren't played. Empathy requires the compassion to put your own desires on hold for a moment. Man or woman, not many people are good at empathy.

Yeah, its always about preserving social status. Her desire to make things "right" isn't out of respect for him, its a desire to do whatever she wants, while she gets whatever she wants, while assuming no responsibility for being an asshole.

You can look but you can't touch, basically. If you comment in disagreement with practically anything you stand out like a sore thumb and immediately attract all kinds of monikers before getting banned.

The older I get, and the closer i get to metropolitan areas, the harder it is. I'm only 25 years old, so I'm out of that phase of just wanting to be friends with the cool kids. I've just become friends who do similar things. I'm a musician, and that seems to be the root of most of my friends.

Yeah, their view on morality was way deeper than I used to think. I thought they were nonsensical and weird, but now when I read them I find a lot more elements that remind me of buddhist karma (cause and effect) than arbitrary rules and punishment and reward.

My girlfriend loves stories, poetry, and art, so this really intrigues me. It's a way to air your feelings while not opening your belly up and letting your guts spill out. You can express your annoyance while still retaining your frame. You get the satisfaction of expression, and she doesn't get turned off by your feelings. That's a pretty brilliant idea. I read my girlfriend poetry or grimms fairy tales if she is not feeling well. I might have to start reading to her if I don't feel well either…

Because people don't have sympathy for men. Its easier to identify with people we have sympathy for. We're all biologically tuned to feel sympathy for women. Feminism ideology is driven by that. They can't see how women aren't oppressed more because it feels so strongly every time they hear about women's issues. That's why if you try to debate the individual issues they spin and skirt the issues, pushing on to other issues. They feel more like sustaining the world view than actually getting the …

Me too! Their community reports anything that disagrees with them, then the banhammer gets dropped. Its intellectual laziness to assume that you're so right that anybody who disagrees with your presumptions doesn't deserve to speak.

Its a way you point out that women are incapable fragile victims of life without saying it outright. This 8 year old boy was born with the privilege of getting pussy at an early age, right? What a lucky guy.

I don't tell many people that I'm an atheist, or buddhist, or that I have some libertarian, and some liberal ideas. Nothing about my education, or lack of education. I don't tell people about my ideas concerning art and its influence over people. The only time I bring up any of these things, is if it benefits me and those immediately around me, to bring it up. Talking about zen is not zen. Talking about compassion is not compassion. Talking about being a leader, is not being a leader. These thin…
