Actually, in that regard they pretty much are. MGTOW is about putting yourself first. Being a monk on the other hand is just about putting god first and yourself last. You still follow a predetermined path.

I was here mid-2015, on a different account though. I don't exactly remember the sub count but I remember when we reached 15k it was a huge deal and there were many old timers then adding quality posts. Edit: not sure if it's allowed or if it can even be done but try to ask the mods for the traffic stats.
