I'd be interested to see a source on that--personal experience and many schools of reddit pickup thought seem to say otherwise. I'd actually argue girls decide faster--they immediately categorize into alphas and betas upon first interaction.

Huh. Well I'm a dude, but you don't really look unattractive to me-- I'd actually put you on the upper end. It's entirely possible you're right on the "city has unapproachable women part," to the point where they all have bitch shields up 24/7. If this is true, you have to be unphased by it. You need to push through and basically ignore all signs of disinterest until a farther point, because disinterest and even disdain will be their default. They will not give you the benefit of the doubt. Try …

Harsh comment incoming--apologies in advance: You might just be ugly. Fairer, with less intent on shocking you: you're probably not in the upper percentage of attractiveness. I honestly doubt you're actually ugly; people tend to avoid looking at those they find truly repulsive rather than simply looking at them badly. If you're simply getting bad reactions via eye contact, that's not necessarily a sense of your mental insecurity, that is entirely an appearance reaction. If your metric is two ver…

Agree with a lot of the "perhaps simply not interested in that way/chemistry comments." Situation ignorant tip: take a look at the DiCarlo escalation ladder - http://www.tsbmag.com/2006/10/17/a-step-by-step-ladder-of-escalation/ Gives a decent baseline on kino escalation. Holding hands is overt, something the woman consciously must accept. I'd bet you skimped on the incidental touches, like grazing her back to guide her in a direction, touching fingers when handing her froyo, grabbing leash, etc…

First off, some "buddy" :P The detail that catches my attention here is you mentioned you talked about basic stuff, colleges etc. wrong. Especially if you had been talking to her for a while. Just as you need to constantly escalate kino, you need to escalate the specificity and emotionally tied conversation topics. Topics such as college lump you into a category with Auntie Georgia, etc. nothing interesting. Also, the ex boyfriend. Good jumping point, not a good sticking point. What i mean is tr…

Watch some standup comedy. Copy the style of comedians you enjoy, practice their jokes, note delivery and speed, emphasis, etc. treat it like an acting exercise, emulate a successful story teller until it is ingrained enough to feel natural, where you can use it for your own stories. Note: careful actually using jokes other than just for practice - people sometimes recognize them and make sure the ones you are emulating actually match your sense of humor or it will feel weird.

Couldn't find the original document (didn't search long really, but I'm sure reddit will help me out) but the DiCarlo escalation ladder is an excellent crutch. Be sure to improvise by situation, but this gave me a pretty solid concept enough to have confidence to do something. http://www.tsbmag.com/2006/10/17/a-step-by-step-ladder-of-escalation/

Honestly? Cliché but the best way to start is start. Go out and fail a bit. In terms of the community now, it seems to have moved more towards a focus on inner game and self development. That confidence and motivation you're lacking are exactly what current techniques would urge you to conquer for success. Again though, long story short just get started. Don't study up as an excuse to delay it. A wingman is a good idea. Buddy system all the way.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
