What could be objectionable in asking all young people to pause before plunging into the scramble of adult life to donate some of their time and energies to some socially beneficial, critically needed service at home or abroad? It's not a donation if it's mandatory.

Well, yes, the United States just has an exceptionally poor implementation of capitalism. Tell me, is Finland not capitalist? Norway? Disagree. The largest motivation for MGM is a systemic brainwashing campaign that has successfully integrated it into our culture. I agree. There is a huge parallel here, and people get really defensive when it is pointed out. To me, people have called it a false equivalency on numerous occasions without making an attempt to defend that claim. Hating black people was just something that was accepted back during the times of that mentioned campaign. I guess right now, hating men is just accepted, and nobody seems to care.

We have supermax prisons here in the States. Lots of them. The US prison system is anything but just. We have a massive network of for-profit prisons that actively lobby for harsher sentencing so that they can make money, and work to prevent people from being paroled. The whole system just needs to be scrapped and built from scratch.

I haven't much to contribute at this point. This is very well rounded, and honestly I couldn't agree more. Hypocrisy (it is, after all, hypocrisy) in order to further one's own self seems to be deeply ingrained in human nature, and Feminism puts women in a position where they can exploit it.

On your final point, definitely. But it does appear to be condemned at this moment, with a mainstream centre-left paper firing the lady. I find people sympathizing with her only in online spaces such as Twitter, which are full of unreasonable people anyhow. And even then, there are few.

I don't know. I know that's there's proof of her abuse onto him, and none of the inverse, but I certainly don't know that he didn't abuse her as well. It's possible. The issue that I take with this, is that despite the social media campaign, still she keeps her jobs, still her public image is intact, and his career is in shambles. There is a huge, provable differential in the application of justice here, and that I can't stand for.

Mmm. I'm an American, and I used to look to the commonwealth as examples of governments that worked somewhat. Even before brexit, I wasn't impressed with the quality of the Australian government. Murdoch media empire doesn't help.

Oh, I don't disagree that there has been a start of a slow societal shift. My point simply was that I think we're undoing progress by taking actions such as these. Again, perhaps I'm wrong, I'm spitballing, and can't back up by conjecture and reasoning with practical evidence, as it's not like whether or not your post helped public outlooks has been studied.

Let me ponder this for a while. I think that you aren't really considering how non-mainstream Reddit is, as in many places it's quite against the narrative. To "win", as a-man-from-earth said, would be to hurt their bottom line. Personally I don't see that happening. Maybe I'm burned out and pessimistic though, that's certainly possible.

To further underline this. It's not just feminists who have preconceived notions about men, it is society as a whole. Those bystanders who are supposed to come to our aid? They most likely believe these things. They most likely want to believe that we, or you in this scenario, are a mysogynist. Is this fair? Certainly no. Are you a mysogynist? I don't think so. That won't stop people from seeing it that way.
