Could the reason flu deaths were decreasedpossibly be because the preventative measures we were taking to reduce the spread of COVID? A person who died of COVID died of COVID, that is a life that would've otherwise been alive. Reducing numbers by 20% would still be ~450,000 deaths. Even if influenza deaths were included (they weren't), you'd have 420,000 deaths. What's your next move for trying to act as though no deaths have occurred as a result of a disease that proveably kills people?

Could that not be because influenza is less infectious than COVID and people were taking precautionary measures? In the US, between October 2020 and July 2021, 748 people died of influenza. So I don't know where you got 0 from. And if I understand what you are implying, even if flu deaths were attributed as COVID, there's still 600,000 COVID deaths.

Interesting, I've never read a journal article mentioning a death rate approaching 0. If that was the case, you'd expect to have had 3,000 deaths if all of the population was infected. We'd expect Australia to have 250 deaths if the entire population was infected. This isn't the case for either country, both have had more deaths.

If you're seriously arguing masks don't work, you haven't read the data and don't know what you're talking about. Herd immunity likely won't be a thing for natural COVID infections. People infected with COVID have a reinfection rate far greater than that of the infection rate of those vaccinated. You don't know what you're talking about.
