Not sure how I feel about this. These t-shirts, when worn by men, objectify women sexually: but when worn by queer women subvert the objectification in a 'brave and assertive way'. I'm so glad to have a student paper telling me this sort of thing.No. I'm saying the writer assumes that a woman wearing a misogynistic t-shirt is more likely to be wearing it ironically, whereas a man who wears the same shirt is more likely to actually be misogynistic. You can call that a double standard, but I'm inclined to agree that a woman is less likely to be misogynistic than a man. | /r/MensRights | 27/09/13 10:00 AM

I'm so glad to have a student paper telling me this sort of thing. The writer doesn't like these shirts because they imply the wearer views women as little beyond objects of sexual desire. I don't think she's arguing that anything's wrong with enjoying sex or a woman's body, but thinking women are only good for sex/their bodies is problematic. The difference with lesbians wearing the shirt is that they're women, so the writer believes they're less likely to be misogynistic. Which, honestly, is probably true. I don't necessarily disagree with the intentions behi… | /r/MensRights | 26/09/13 06:24 AM |
Two months ago I made an infographic on male privilege, well, it sucked, so here's a new and better one! [Fixed]I'm glad you're creating awareness about these important issues, but I'm not sure why you felt the need to title it "male privilege". I understand it's a dig at the concept that being male confers an inherent advantage in many parts of society, but this doesn't exactly disprove that--you just cherry picked some counterexamples. I guess I wish we could promote these issues without turning it into "us vs them". | /r/MensRights | 26/09/13 06:17 AM
Used Cars vs. SlutsSo after following the thread of links from that "alpha"-obsessed circlejerk of a blog over to the actual study on Wiley, you can see that it was only studying women, and finding that promiscuous women are more likely to cheat. You responded with "proof" of something I said word for word in the post you responded to. What you fail to acknowledge is that the same pattern is easily demonstrable with men. People who like having sex with multiple partners will continue liking sex with multiple partn… | /r/TheRedPill | 28/04/13 07:12 PM
Used Cars vs. SlutsThe public does not pay for children born outside of wedlock, nor is proper use of birth control the issue here, nor does it make sense to treat such an action as solely the woman's fault. Women control access to sex? Are you fucking kidding? I couldn't count the number of men I know who have turned down propositions from women, nor the number of women I know who have refused long-term commitments with men. Stop pretending we're cavemen and join the rest of us in post-1960s America. | /r/TheRedPill | 28/04/13 06:17 AM
Used Cars vs. SlutsStatistically a bad bet? In terms of what? Promiscuous women are more likely to cheat, but so are promiscuous men. They enjoy sex with other partners more. This just makes sense. (And no, I'm not talking out my ass: http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0014162) I happen to be of the opinion that people should be able to do whatever they want without getting shit from society as long as they're not directly fucking with anyone else's life. But even if you think you have th… | /r/TheRedPill | 28/04/13 05:00 AM
Used Cars vs. SlutsFine, don't enter into an LTR with a promiscuous woman, or encourage your friends to, or whatever. I'm not telling you to, and frankly I don't care. The point is, do not harass other people for doing things that don't really impact your life. Which is exactly what you're doing when you repeatedly publicly assert they're less valuable than chaste women. I'm not stamping my (size 13) feet. You imply I'm acting childishly while claiming your personal opinions are objective facts. They're not. | /r/TheRedPill | 28/04/13 04:32 AM
Used Cars vs. SlutsSo to briefly summarize your arguments as best I can: Women put less effort into seduction than men. Promiscuous women get "worn down" and abuse their bodies. Your last comment I'm not even sure how to summarize since it doesn't make sense to me. Maybe I was unclear--it's wrong to compare a reasonably universal desire (wanting a car to go farther before breaking down) to a personal preference (you not liking promiscuous women for personal reasons, which not everyone shares). But to address your … | /r/TheRedPill | 28/04/13 03:21 AM
Used Cars vs. SlutsI'm terribly confused by this post. First of all you're comparing wearing down a mechanical vehicle to increasing a human's experience, which makes next to no sense, but that's not even the major issue. You start off with a question I hope to rephrase more accurately: why does society reward males for sleeping around but sanction females? Or as you put it, why are sexually promiscuous males studs and women sluts? Without even criticizing the logic of your painfully drawn-out analogy, it's obviou… | /r/TheRedPill | 28/04/13 01:03 AM
