Modular is better in general, especially if each module contains some material from all previous modules. 1	[X-Post TIL] The relationship between single-parent families and crime is so strong that controlling for it erases the difference between race and crime and between low income and crime. It's not the correlations they're debunking, it's the implied conclusion. The finding in the title could just mean that all those factors are highly correlated with one another. In that situation, controlling for any one factor will reduce the apparent relationship between the others. It doesn't necessarily mean that people in single parent families with high income commit as many crimes as people in single parent families with low income. 1	Pressure grows on marines to consider lowering combat standards for women. This is an incomplete argument though. Why not just raise standards much higher? Any change in standards is a trade-off. Lower standards means more but lower quality soldiers, while higher standards means fewer but higher quality. 1	BBC Comic relief funded charity to help the pets of female domestic violence victims - still no known cases of them helping any male victims. Helping the pets is not as absurd as it sounds - concern for their pets pets is often a reason victims stay in abusive situations.
