You haven't even brought any proof to back up your statements. I get that you disagree, and I acknowledge that I haven't brought any proof either so we're really just comparing opinions at this point, but if you're going to claim that every study backs up a particular point without offering even a single one, it definitely undermines your argument. This whole back-and-forth has been a waste of time for both of us, which is sad since we both ultimately care about justice, and are coming at it fro…

Jesus, you're more Kool-Aid than man at this point. I'd be better off arguing with a bot.

Uh-huh. This ain't about the sentencing gap, though. It's about wrongful imprisonment and lack of compensation. If the length of the sentence is your takeaway, I can only see that as a way to connect this with mens rights even at the cost of ignoring the majority of the unjust factors, which fall on the other side of the demographic intersection.

...is a noun? Look, it doesn't take a sociology degree to understand that, historically and statistically, the issue of wrongful imprisonment and lack of state compensation for such is far more strongly associated with blackness than maleness. On a purely logical level, the fact that there is an intersection between this person's blackness and maleness does not automatically mean that this is as much about this person's maleness as their blackness.

Right, this is totally because he's a man, and has nothing to do with any other demographics he might be part of...

The fuck are you on about? It's absolutely a problem that they mutilate boys, but the worst negative repercussions are so rare and comparatively insignificant compared to the worst issues plaguing children today that it's a low-priority issue. I'm not even saying female circumcision is the highest priority. For me it's child trafficking and kidnapping, which are both increasing year-after-year, around the globe, for both genders.

Wow, they got you good. I'm sorry man. Bringing up the injustice of men having their bodily autonomy taken away and saying it's a gendered issue when female circumcision both predates that for males and is more painful and destructive (and tied into cultures which have even less respect for women's body autonomy than ours, which is seriously still arguing about abortions even as they let children starve). Like, there's no reason to be this upset about the male version. The health repercussions a…

"affects only one gender" Are you serious? Female circumcision not only exists, it predates male circumcision by millennia. Tell me it's just a male problem when you've seen the women with their clitorises cut off and their vaginas sewn shut until their marriage when the threads are literally torn open by penetration. I'm circumcised myself and I'm telling you compared with what they do to women it's a walk in the park.

Who said I approve of it? You're all conflating a religious tradition with an instance of a woman getting in a protester's face and turning it into a Men's Rights post focusing on hating hateful women rather than protesting a backwards religious tradition. It's not just illogical, it makes all of you easier to manipulate since it's all working on an emotional level.

This is a religion problem, not a gender problem. This sub, I swear. Y'all are snowflaking worse than the Tumblrinas now.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
